AL's at the Dead show, so not expecting a thread.
ETA: an all-Dead themed set? Nah....
but a Dead-active year it is -- '78 begins with "Fire on the Mountain"
-
AL shakes her groove thang. Peaches and herb.
-
SNL Coneheads --> Stones "Respectable" --> Keith Richards drug sentencing
-
No complaints so far: a little-played (in terms of 10@10) GD tune, a haaaaaay! moment, and Respect-a- bowl! BOS1, 2 & 3.
-
I've probably heard "H'wood Nites" a few too many times to be excited about it today.
-
Keef gets off > Seger, Hollywood Nights.
-
Siouxie, "Hong Kong Garden" -- BOS1 and a possible bustout

Yep, this sounds like circa Stop Making Sense, so 5 years later!

I think it's from the movie Stop Making Sense, like 83 or so?

NBC News Jessica Savitch (headline: Gay Freedom Day parade) --> "Y.M.C.A". Oy.

I can't hear this song without thinking of a my first time going to Wrigley Field. They played this between innings and there was this little old lady usher doing the YMCA letters. Somehow I doubt she got all the implications.
-
ABC-TV Sat nite promo --> Zevon "Lawyers Guns etc"
-
Fantasy Island -- which the "hipster" on Mind the Gap could not ID today
NOOOOOOOO!!! Not "Thunder Island". WOS. If it's followed by "Dreadlock Holiday" I will go postal
-
Fantasy Island > Jay Ferguson, Thunder Island. Top 40 cheeze.
-
Yay! Ramones cover of "Needles and Pinza" BOS2. This seemed rather Dave Morey-on-autopilot to my ears, the Siouxie bustout notwithstanding.
-
so, when we start the week with '70s, is there nowhere to go but down? We could go '90s/'80s/'00s followed by something patriotic on Friday for the holiday. (This all assumes that '60s sets have truly been banished, which is the scuttlebutt in Snipeland).

[editing note: besides removing the extra carriage return between each line, #8 had "title - artist" instead of "artist - title" the rest were reported in. With all the copy editors in this group, I don't know what's proper, I just thought it should be ordered.]

Did AL ever announce what got BOS?
-
Today's bust-outs:
1. Grateful Dead - Fire on the Mountain
2. Peaches & Herb - Shake Your Groove thing
5. Siouxsie & The Banshees - Hong Kong Garden

It's long been "artist - title," although for a while under the other host it was reversed, to my
consternation. As it is, in recent years the header lines have deviated from the Morey Canonical
Format, which is usually something like
00/00/00 - Sunday! Some text blah blah blah 1900!
