Warriors in the NBA finals --> BTO "Hey You" -- a fine TOTHK, one that doesn't get much play these days.

ETA: it was something of a Moreytrina but we haven't heard it since Dave left.

Think AL gave us the loooong version of this one -- at the very least there was a really long fade behind the Warriors/Rick Barry clip that followed it.

And Over My Head is sounding good, not nearly as overplayed as some of the other Big Mac tunes from this era.

And an excellent pick by AL. He was all over FM radio back in the 70s, but his catalog hasn't really been mined much for 10@10 beyond Fooled Around and Fell In Love. Goin' Fishin', Stealin' Watermelons, Juke Joint Jump, Travelin' Shoes, all potential bustouts.

Warriors sweep!! --> "Cut the Cake". I think my "It's a Miracle" suggestion woulda went nicely here.

Someone requested that song on FB.

File under: I didn't know that!

Was just reading Bishop's Wikipedia entry, and learned that he graduated high school as a National Merit scholar, and studied physics at the University of Chicago in the early 60s, where he later met Paul Butterfield. (It doesn't say if he graduated or not.)

I remember "Travelin' Shoes" being an FM staple for a while in the mid-'70s.  Unfortunately it's one of those my-woman-is-an-unreasonable-bitch songs and what was considered hilarious in 1974 -- the line "Gonna take Hank Aaron's baseball bat and tenderize her head" was one of its selling points -- just won't fly today.
