another of those annual "usual suspects" sets, which in this case is fine -- sometimes it's comforting to hear "Where do the Children Play" and a Harold & Maude clip.

BREAKING NEWS: AL is home sick, so we're getting an Earth Day "classic"

last year's was nicely done:

Quote
Tues 4/22/14: it’s Earth Day!

1. Cat Stevens – Where Do the Children Play?
(Movie: Harold & Maude “what kind of flower would you like to be?”)
2. Talking Heads – Nothing but Flowers
(TV: The Eco-Bunnies)
3. Three Dog Night – Out in the Country
(TV: Al Gore on 30 Rock)
4. Cake – Long Line of Cars
(TV: Daily Show and Colbert on the BP oil spill)
5. Tower of Power – Only So Much Oil in the Ground
(Woodsy Owl says “give a hoot, don’t pollute!”)
6. Quicksilver – Fresh Air
(Movie: The Lorax)
7. Bruce Cockburn – If a Tree Falls
(Movie: Harold & Maude save a tree)
8. Beatles – Mother Nature’s Son
(Satirical environmental PSA)
9. Kinks – Apeman
(News: Walter Cronkite/Jane Goodall on the first Earth Day)
10. Louis Armstrong – What a Wonderful World
11. Nilsson – The Most Beautiful World in the World

I can live with that, since my weekly 9:30 call with my boss is happening right on its usual schedule: a little after 10. :)

If it's a classic, hopefully that means it'll get posted somewhat promptly on their soundcloud. As of yesterday, a couple of last week's set's still hadn't shown up and I am feeling they probably won't.

Sounds like last year's set, iirc.

The Cat Man, Where Do the Children Play TOTHK.

ETA: Oops, didn't see that Mike had added last year's setlist to his earlier post. So yeah...

I note that last year's set went to 11. Wonder if this one will adhere to that, or if we're going to lose one to conform to the 10-song convention?  (If we have to sacrifice a song, I vote for the Bruce Cockburn song, even though it was one of last year's rarities.)

Yup. Ruth Gordon rules. That was a nice segue to the T.Heads tune

not much to say, but hearing Stewart and Colbert knowing we're soon to be without Stewart as well... damn.

BOS TOP!

Yay, we're getting #11! Very sneaky of AL to add it as part of the backsell!

While these may all be evergreeLNs, they're perhaps my favorites out of all the
usual perennial shows.
