I'm expecting another Replacements cameo, since she went to the show last night. Would love to hear Talent Show, or even Achin' To Be over the oft-played I'll Be You.

not many requests -- I think the thread confused people. Maybe that gives the few of us who did make suggestions a leg up?

TOTHK - Batman (Jack Nicholson "Gentlemen, let's broaden our minds") ---> The Replacements "I'll Be You"

Not like I mind it *that* much (it was actually kind of a fun sing-along when I saw 'em last week) but it's just the one we always hear.

Hoodoo Gurus "Come Anytime"

R.E.M. "Stand"

Hoodoo Gurus "Come Anytime"
another only-heard-once-before (in 2012) rarity.
R.E.M.L.N.: "Stand"
"If wishes were trees
Trees would be falling"
er... what?
-
gay prostitution in DC? shocker! --> "Stand By Your Man" LOL. 2nd Lyle Lovett appearance in less than a week.
-
Bush administration DC male prostitute sex scandal ---> Lyle Lovett "Stand By Your Man"

More Nicholson/Batman ---> Morrissey "The Last Of The Famous International Playboys"

BSOS so far. (That's best segue...)

The Cure "Fascination Street"

-
Cure, "FascinatioLN St".

Since AL has been playing Batman clips, will she play Prince's "Batdance"?
-
A FF I won't ever get tired of.
-
Dead Poets Society ---> The Stone Roses "I Wanna Be Adored"
-
Dead Poets Society "Carpe Diem!" --> Stone Roses. What was once a rarity has become an AL somewhat-frequent-flier.
-
eeek: uber-uber LN Mr. Aimee Mann.
Seriously, this is "No Myth"s 15th or 16th appearance -- just from a search of this board; that's not counting plays in the shrayabase that predate this forum.
-
Michael Penn "No Myth"
ETA: Will we have a HAAAAAY moment to break out of the monotony?
-
Dead Poets Society "Carpe Diem!" --> Stone Roses. What was once a rarity has become an AL somewhat-frequent-flier.
Really? I must keep missing it. Another BOS candidate here.
Michael Penn not so much.
(Were many of these songs requested? Seems more like she's doing it herself on the fly.)
-
More Dead Poets Society ---> Stevie Ray Vaughan "Crossfire"
-
(Were many of these songs requested? Seems more like she's doing it herself on the fly.)
AL seems to have had this setlist in mind since she was at the Replacements show last night. Seems like any requests made have been ignored.

more Dead Poets --> SRV, as unnecessary as he usually is in '89 sets.

yeah this is something of a greatest '89 hits set for her -- only thing missing is "Everything is Broken". Or the Wilburys.
-
And to end the monotonous set, Was (Not Was) "Walk The Dinosaur"!
So AL did take a request! Hooray for RGMike!
-
OMFG! My longtime "Walk the Dinosaur" request!! uber-BOS, obviously.

This isn't its first appearance, is it? I could swear it's popped up at least once before this.

it is -- despite what a certain 'snipe insists (he claims Dave played it "many times" but I've been requesting it from Dave and AL forever)

Just did a quick search n scan of the this board, and you are indeed correct. I thought it might have turned up once, but that seems to have been some of the Capn's alternative lists. Glad it finally made its legit debut on 10@10.

A request that was like 5 years in the making! :)

Had to look, and it confirmed my guess as to who it was. Consider the source.

I'm on a roll, I tells ya! Seems the newfound desire for a token "HAAAY!" song in most sets has been working in my favor.

not only that, I used to email Dave suggesting it --"guaranteed BOS contender" I'd say to him. But to no avail.

If I had to guess I'd say you've been suggesting it for the better part of the last decade at the very least. So it's about bloody time...

What song holds the record for most original spins (for which we can keep track of, anyway)?

without looking, I'll guess "Good Thing" by FYC.

What song holds the record for most original spins (for which we can keep track of, anyway)?
Dunno. While it's trivial to discern the number of spins for any particular song, discovering
the one with the most theoretically requires counting the number of appearances for every
song. I recently started keeping a list of the Twenty Plus club, and while I add songs that
come to my attention, I have not sought them out. Anyone who thinks they have a
potential candidate can PM me and I'll check it out.
Terence Trent D'Arby - Wishing Well [26]
Fleetwood Mac - Hold Me [25]
Steam - Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye [24]
Fine Young Cannibals - Good Thing [24] (hat tip to RGMike)
Raspberries - Go All the Way [23]
Sly & The Family Stone - Hot Fun In The Summertime [23]
Michael Penn - No Myth [22]
Hugh Masekela - Grazin' in the Grass [20]

Hmmm, an interesting challenge. I have a couple in mind, but want to check some stats of my own before I go public.

If "Wishing Well" indeed holds the record, I don't know that it would surprise anybody. How about Squeeze's "Hourglass"? That was very much a DM go-to, PM not so much.

interesting how (except for "Hold Me" and the 'berries) these songs cluster around late '80s and late '60s. Late '80s makes sense, as DM in particular had a very limited pallette in '87/'88/'89 sets -- BFMcG's "Hourglass" guess is dead-on, I'm thinking.
The late '60s thing OTOH -- we all think of those years as having SOOOO many choices. Steam and Sly aren't really surprising (popular with both DM and AL) and Masekela appeared in not only '68 sets but in Dave's "Strictly Instrumental"s and the famous "Cowbell" set.

Good call. Hourglass ties Wishing Well with 26. I should note that I am not counting
bonus tracks, and I am not making any effort to weed out encore sets in my counts.
