I'll be listening but most likely not posting -- very busy at work today.

A very Morey-esque set so far. Two FFs lead off, and a semi-novelty song I haven't really missed:

KC & Sunshine Band - Get Down Tonight
Springsteen - 10th Avenue Freezeout
Sugarloaf - Don't Call Us (We'll Call You)

It's Sugarloaf for "Don't Call Us", no?

Sugarloaf takes extreme umbrage at your comment. They say their hit was "Green Eyed Lady"  8)

I think I heard this on KPIG a couple days ago. Is it Jeff Beck doing "She's a Woman"? Perhaps Pat Metheny?

Yep.

Could have sworn this one was another Morey fave, but it's not in the shraytabase.

Holy cow, if it don't fit, don't force it!  BOS for Ohio Players' "Skin Tight".

ETA: I see I blew this one. I was fooled by the one time they said "skin tight".

Still a BOS for Parliament.

4. Jeff Beck - She's a Woman
5. LaBelle - Lady Marmalade
6. Parliament - If It Don't Fit (Don't Force It)

Finally, something resembling a rarity.

Me too -- amazing it's not there.

holee crap: Parliament "If it Don't Fit Don't Force it" -- bustout of the week!

And Mr Hunter's "Once Bitten" is always welcome IMHO.

And we end so tastefully with Jefferson Starship, getting a taste of the real world and Miracles.

The looooong version?

ETA: Yes, I believe it was.

Always lovely (somewhere Gaz is smiling) but I've heard this one a lot this past year in various places.  Like yesterday, a bunch of FFs redeemed by a few choice bustouts.

Tomorrow: the annual "Fool" set, I'm assumimg?

I've always loved this song, though I didn't pick up the part about Grace tasting like the real world until much later. Adolescent Dave would have been even more enamored of the song if he'd known.

Was that Grace or Marty singing that line?

Marty sings the actual line but the implication is that it's Grace who is being, um, pleasured.

Yep, that's how I read it. And when I saw them at the Greek Theatre, those two acted it out. Sort of.

Annalisa played it first as a bonus track in 2007, and it has appeared a couple of times PM.
It's probably the most successful jazz-fusion album ever.

Similarly when the Starship played Better Lying Down from Grace's Manhole during one of
their Central Park concerts in the mid-70s.  My favorite Grace Slick bawdy song is Across the
Board
from Baron Von Tollbooth and the Chrome Nun.

"man's only got one finger
He doesn't need anymore..."

Have there ever been any clips commemorating the Golden State Warriors' lone NBA championship this year? If not, it would seem to be a good time to celebrate the '75 Warriors, considering how well the team is doing this season.
