If she plays "Bohemian Rhapsody" (yes, multiple requests, sheesh) I may go postal.

OTOH, someone in AL's thread requested this, and I had NO IDEA that Joan Baez recorded "Stones in the Road" 2 years before Mary Chapin Carpenter. Apparently Ms Carpenter wrote it specifically for Joan, originally.

Between Cap'n Jack and myself, most of my usual '92 wish-list selections were requested last nite -- but I'll probably stick with Jazz-FM this morning. I can always catch the replay if one of those requests makes it in.

Two songs leading up to 10@10 today: The Rolling Stones "Start Me Up" and Peter Schilling "Major Tom (Coming Home)" [insert snarky comments here]

My Cousin Vinny ---> Bjork "Hit"

And this was *not* rattling my walls in '92. Points for rarity however. VHM.

(Cue RGM: well-worn "Bjork sjucks" line.)

someone in snipeland wanted to know if this was Alison Moyet -- which tickled me because I always thought it interesting that Vince Clarke went from working with a woman who some thought sounded like a guy (Moyet) to a guy some thought sounded like a woman (Andy Bell).

ETA: This set is moving along at a rapid pace, which isn't a bad thing...

Neil Young "Harvest Moon"

Nice song, also heard in my surroundings in '92, but it's still registering somewhat on my LN-meter.

Six songs in, and so far I've only heard one serious BOS candidate.

The Bodyguard ---> Whitney Houston covers Dolly Parton "I Will Always Love You"

A nod to Whitney's only offspring, who was found unconscious in a bathtub several days ago and by all reports is about to follow her mom into the great beyond?

This song’s use is becoming pretty morbid on 10@10. The other time she played it was after Whitney died. :(

Indeed. We only hear this  song when someone in that family dies, I guess.

Nirvana "In Bloom"

ETA: Mild surpise that it wasn't "Smells Like Teen Spirit".  Also, no "Save The Best For Last", since the ballad slot went to Whitney.

Heard the set in the car & couldn't post in real time, but double ditto from me, love that song.

I wonder what the record is for cover songs in a non-'cover song' specialty set.  We got three today.
