Lake Placid Winter Olympics etc.
-
pre-set: "D'yer Mak'er", which Renee had joked wouldn't be played during A-to-Z because the apostrophes made it too hard to figure out where to put it. Not sure if it actually got played last week or not.
-
How long *is* "olive season" anyway?
TOTHLN: "Rapture". Nowhere to go but up.
-
Cougar XR-7 commercial --> Stones, "She's So Cold". VHM.

My first car was a 72 XR-7 convertible. Fun car, though the driver's seat adjustment didn't work, so I had to sit all the way back and tighten the seat belt so I didn't zoom forwards and backwards. Always amusing.
-
Bill Murray's lounge singer --> Joy Division, "Love Will Tear Us Apart". Always a BOS.
-
More Murray --> Lipps, Inc. "Funkytown"
-
uber-LN2 "Mirra inna Baff-room"
-
BOS2 Jonah Lewie "Kitchen at Parties". Always a treat.

as much of an 80's uber geek as I am, I cannot recall ever hearing this before.
of course that may be merely a sign of my mental decline in middle age!

LN3 Cars, "Touch & Go"

I want to say it's made one or two 10@10 appearances prior to this, but other than that I'm with you Mark -- no recollection from back in the day.
WOS the Cars.

only its second appearance (the first time Renee played it, amazingly)

Some perfectly serviceable Petty. VHM.

They did, and to prove their dictionagraphic* incompetence, it was the final D song (D-punctuation-additional letters), and was immediately followed by - not even a comercial break - the first E song (E-punctuation-additional letters), namely E=MC2, by Big audio Dynamite.
*if that's not a word, it should be.
-
Reagan ranches --> Graham Parker "Stupefaction" (?) Def a rarity and a big BOS3
-
Geez, who gets credit for the "mountain-top ranch" reference implying that Reagan somehow equates to Moses!?
I've driven past it, same road as Jacko's infamous place, and it is mostly flat with a slight rise to the south to a low ridge in Santa Barbara County.
-
NBCNews headlines re: women make less $$ --> Dolly "9 to 5". Heh.
-
well, the rarities saved this one from too much Morey-on-autopilot-ness.

to my mind this set was redeemed primarily by the reprise of the Ray-gun shotgun clip. :-)

I believe the word you're looking for is "lexigraphic."
And who would like to tell us where D'yer Mak'er should be placed in the order?
:)
