Guess I really am lucky. Meeting cancelled. Bring on the RAWK! BOS1 Houses of the Holy!
-
Rocky Horror: "I would like, if I may, to take you on a strange journey..." --> the Dan, "Black Friday". VHM.
-
Mr Seger arrives with "Beautiful Loser". BOS2.
-
clip: "I would like, if I may, to take you on a strange journey..." --> the Dan, "Black Friday". VHM.
The clip was from the opening scene of "Rocky Horror Picture Show."
-
News: fall of Saigon/funds for refugees --> Dylan, "Shelter from the Storm". BOS3 for not being "Tangled Up in Blue"
-
WOS: Crapton's unnecessary, reggaefied "Knockin on Heaven's Door"
-
This is so far really strong. The Seger song gets my overall BOS so far but we still have a ways to go. Hoping for more goodies.
Aside: Anyone remember seeing the "Hard Rain" TV special that aired (I think) in the fall of '76, about the Rolling Thunder Revue? I only saw it the one time, and I'm a little surprised it hasn't been issued on DVD. On the other hand, considering this is Dylan we're talking about, maybe not so much.
Clapton, Knocking on Heaven's Door. OK, so it's sort of a Dylan twin-spin but mostly meh.

They Just Can't Help it! Spinners playin' games. VHM.
ETA: ooo -- it's the LP version with the tinkly piano part!
-
I can never get tired of this Spinners song: it is both a sledgehammer for when I was 12 years old, and also because it is the copy editor's nightmare!
BOS#2, #1 being Dylan.
-

The oddly punctuated Games (People Play). Or something like that. Yeah, I'll venture a VHM here as well.
-
awww... sentimental BOS4 S&G, "My Little Town"
-

Exactly!
Oh, and hey Shray! Nice to see you again! By any chance are you in the city any day this week?
-
awww... sentimental BOS4 S&G, "My Little Town"
IIRC, this was released on solo albums by both Paul and Artie.
-
I guess I'm leaning towards a 4 or more way split for BOS, Zep, Dylan, Spinners & S&G.
"It's just imagi-nay-ay-ay-ay-tion...they lack."
-
Jaws "we're gonna need a bigger boat" --> Leon and his lady go back to the island. And I don't mean Lawn Guyland.
-

absolutely correct, both "Still Crazy After All These Years" and "Breakaway". The latter is actually the better album IMHO.

I thought that's where S&G's Little Town was. :)

I am almost entirely available...does that mean you are around?

indeed, his '70s solo stuff is WAY underrated. He said that Breakaway was intended as an updated "make-out" album. His versions of "99 Miles From LA" and "Waters of March" are wonderful.

we remain seabound: Rod Stewart, "Sailing", which is a def rarity if not a bustout.
ETA: it appears to be the latter. And quite lovely, so BOS5FRA. One of his tracks that was a huge UK hit and didn't do much here, iirc.
ETA2: it was a #1 UK hit in '75 and was re-released a year later and got to #3 (!). Orig recorded by the Sutherland Bros.

Yep, I am working in the city thru next Tuesday. Any day besides tomorrow you care to meet for lunch?
-
Emily Litella: "eagle rights amendment" --> Eagles. Sorry, "Take it to the Limit" is our uber-LN today. But this was pretty damn swell overall.

Sure. Today even. But tomorrow is also the only day I couldn't.

no argument LN-wise, but at least it was a pretty good segue!
-
Wondering if any of these 10 songs will show up in A-to-Z and I'm guessing none -- in pre-DC days the Dylan, Eagles, and Steely Dan tunes would surely have made the cut and maybe the Zep too.
