Just heard a "generic" promo. So either AL was busy on Friday or we're getting "encores" this week.
ETA: '76 with ELO "Living Thing" as TOTHLN
-
Tull, "Too Old to Rock'n''Roll". VHM.
-
Hmmmm. Songs: 2. Rarities: 0. But both have been pleasant enough and sound like some of what I was playing on my turntable in that era. So far so good.
-
SNL "Mr Bill" --> "Blinded By the LN"
-
Bicentennial coverage --> "Kid Charlemagne". VHM.

Bicentennial coverage --> "Kid Charlemagne". VHM.
"Those San Franciscan nights, they were the best around..."
Steely Dan at the height of their creativity.
Several city names dropped in this song, I'm just realizing. SF, LA, Vegas...

ooo! Rarity of the day/Week: Dylan, "Mozambique". uber-BOS1

Ya took the words right out of my keyboard. Gets my vote so far as well.
-
ooo! BJ's live "Say G'bye to H'wood" -- BOS2
-
Charlie's Angels --> "Ask the Angels"! gobsmacking BOS3 -- a bustout? certainly rare.
ETA: heard twice before (in 2011 and 2012)

Quite a nice little run of three consecutive rarities here mid-set. And we still have three songs to go...
-
Stevie, "Isn't She Lovely?" Lovely, yes. Necessary? Questionable.

"The l-o-o-o-o-o-o-n-g version!" With Stevie stretching out on harmonica.
-
Bad News Bears --> Runaways, "Cherry Bomb". An AL fave but where else ya gonna hear it? VHM.
-
BOS4 JB, gettin UP offa dat THANG, yo.
ETA: with insert of Network "I want you to get up now..." Heh.
-
After a rum start, that turned out pretty OK.
-
Pretty decent set...five serious BOS contenders (Dylan, BillyJ, Patti, JB, and maybe the Runaways), only one or two songs that still show up in KFOG's rotation (ELO, Stevie) and no really egregious FFs. I give this one four stars.
ETA: And it was lengthy, too. Approaching 50 minutes, if not longer.

It only occurred to me in retrospect that AL played the "live" version of the Billy Joel tune (from 1981) rather than the orig '76 version from Turnstiles. oops.

Was lucky enuf to catch this set today in the 9:00 slot of the replay. And yeah, she did play the "live" version of "SGTH" instead of the orig.
