-
Secret Agent undercover as a deejay --> Stones "Mothers Little Helper". BOS3. Doctor please, some more of these!
Mid-60's sets heavily feature the big names. With that in mind, will this set include
A. Dylan
B. Beatles
C. Both
D. Neither?
We're fairly far in, so I don't know if there's time for both, so I'll say B.
-
Came in late 'cause my weekly check-in call with my boss ran long, but managed to tune in during Ike & Tina. Been loving everything since!
-
Radio Caroline news ---> The Beatles "Good Day Sunshine"
-
Radio Caroline news headlines --> "Good Day Sunshine", Beatles (yay). BOS5.

OK, A and D are out (I posted the quiz a good 30 seconds before Good Day, Sunshine, I swear).
-
Beatles are bigger than Jeezus --> Dylan "Rainy day Women", our predicted repeat.

I'll take a flyer and say both, particularly since we're getting the Beatles (yay) as I type this. I'll also point out that we've heard both the Stones and the Who earlier in the set, not an unusual occurrence for these mid-60s sets.
ETA: I hasten to add that on my stream, the Dylan tune hadn't yet commenced when I posted that. Also: some nice segues today.

clearly, you must get stoned, buddy.
-
uber-uber-LN-infinity: "Cali Dreaming".
-
The Mamas & The Papas "California Dreaming"
-
John Wayne for Ronald Reagan ---> The Beach Boys "God Only Knows"
-
John Wayne supports Reagan -- shocker.
Beach Boys "God Only Knows" Also pretty LN, much as I love it.

I still think it's funny that they were played back to back right after I typed the quiz. Well, if you're going to be predictable, you might as well go Mount Rushmore (although this California Dreaming is a bit too 103.7).

Now Kinks. Hall of Famers are rampant.
-
London swings ---> The Kinks "Dedicated Follower Of Fashion"
-
What's "in" in London --> "Dedicated Follower of Fashion". "England Swings" woulda fit nicely in that segue. But BOS6 Kinks, pulling their frilly nylon panties right up tight.

Truth be told, this set hasn't had much in the way of deeper cuts. The Ike and Tina tune is about as close as it's come and that's not terribly deep.
BOSwhatev The Kinks Dedicated Follower of Fashion (also not very deep, but a fave).
-
Batman closes things out ---> The Marketts "Batman" during the backsell
-
BOSwhatev The Kinks Dedicated Follower of Fashion (also not very deep, but a fave).
Did Mr Davies invent the word "Carnabetian"? (I googled it and discovered there's a FB group called "The Carnabetian Army Marches On")
-
uber-uber-LN-infinity: "Cali Dreaming".
I understand what you mean, but there's something about this song. I have heard it a jillion times, and our band plays it too. The chords are anything but simple, and the rhythm is deceptive. Audiences always respond with a certain excitement when they recognize what we're playing. I also really like the Beach Boys version with McGuinn on 12-string solo.

if only Jimmy Ruffin had died 24 hours sooner!

Newlywed Game --> Ike & Tina "River Deep Mountain High" (wrong version, which has happened before).
I finally checked out the Soundcloud, and see what you mean. I really prefer the Phil Spector version, which woulda been BOS for me.
