Title: 13 Nov 2014: AL's back and it's... 1977
Post by: RGMike on November 13, 2014, 09:07:17 AM
No clue as to the year, or whether AL is still away.   Anyone know if Roland West has been subbing for her this time?

ETA: Renee sez AL's back from the East Coast and "her Boston accent will be extra thick today". heh.

Rockwell has a regular time slot now? I thought he was still a pinch hitter.

No, he's strictly a fill-in.  But a welcome one when he shows up, IMHO.

OTOH, EC's "Red Shoes" is about as uber-LN as any NewWavish '77 track I can think of.  I used to be amused, but now I'm more often disgusted.

Annie Hall clip ("It's all over much too quickly") --> Billy Joel, Only the Good Die Young

This is sounding like a mild-mannered party from my college years (late '80's) so far.

News: Alaska pipeline. Not to be confused with Virginia Pippellinni.

Johnny "Guitar" Watson, "Real Mutha Fo' ya" gets a BOS, though it's no longer rare at this point.

Thanks HTY for doing the Cap'n Jack picture-posting thing.

It's enjoyable when the rug rats aren't around or are sleeping. I've been a stay-at-home dad for over a year now.

Nice flub on the song's title on that sleeve there. Wonder if that's a collector's item or anything.

BOS Garland Jeffries' Wild in the Streets, iirc.

Maybe it wasn't a misprint, if it really was about Anita Bryant.

oh, it IS good. I really lost interest in him in the '80s.  But "Crapton" is a fun word to type and is actually a reference to that famous Japanese CD cover where they spell it that way.

and there's a typo on that sleeve too: it should be "I Hope We get to Love in Time", not "Live".   I'd've sworn Dave played it back in the day but apparently not.
