Request thread is up.

That photo montage she posted was misleading -- "Boogie Nights" is from '77. But here's hoping we get a couple rarities along with the obvious "classics".
-
Strange connections: Tuesday's and Wednesday's shows had clips from The Outsiders and
The Fisher King, respectively. Tom Waits had parts in both those movies. So for 1976, I'd
suggest his Small Change (Got Rained on with His Own .38).

that would be swell, tho' if we get Waits it'll be more likely "Step Right Up" or "The Piano Has been Drinking". '76 was also the year he made his famous appearance on Fernwood 2-Nite. "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy."
-
pre-set: I never tire of going from San Berdoo to Kalamazoo.
-
TOTHK: "Crackerbox Palace". Far from rare but i've always loved this one. VHM.

I remember seeing the film for this (they weren't 'videos' yet) on SNL with George and Eric Idle in the fall of '76. It's twoo, it's twoo!
-
George interview re: reuniting the Beatles --> Candi Staton, "Young Hearts Run Free". VHM too.
-
ooo! BOS1 Boz, "Georgia". Fabulous. Why it was never a single is beyond me.
Oh mah dear!

ooo! BOS1 Boz, "Georgia". Fabulous.
One of the lesser-heard tracks from the superlative Silk Degrees. Boz at the height of his talents.
-
Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman --> Lou Rawls with the Cap'n's request. A bit close to being LN, but a beloved classic certainly. Bonus: the long version.
-
Blondie, "X-Offender" -- not rare either, at this point (quite an AL fave) but BOS2. Shouldabeen a hit.
-
OMFG: the orig "Police & Thieves". BOS3 Junior Murvin.
-
I'll have to check this out on SoundCloud later -- looks interesting from what was played so far.

This set is going all over the place, except to the top of the charts. Lots of great songs, none of which could be called huge hits, the Lou Rawls probably the closest we've heard so far. Two thumbs up.
-
NBC News headlines --> "Memory Motel". FP on a hot streak; rejoicing in snipeland. BOS4.
per the interwebs, "Hannah Honey" was Carly Simon.
-
VHM Memory Motel, one of the Stones songs Mick wrote with Billy Preston while Keith was on the nod.
-
SNL Godfather in therapy --> "Don't Go Breakin' My Heart" -- uber-LN for sure; a 103.7 mainstay.
-
Carter Playboy interview aftermath --> Ramones "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend". BOS5.
-
and we close (?) with Love Rolie-coastah. uber-LN2 but I really can't complain, over all this has been quite enjoyable. No bustouts here, but it's one of those sets that seems out-of-this-world to the casual Foghead because it's all-over-the-map and (mostly) avoids "classic" warhorses. Some fine rarities in the mix.
-
per AL, Lou Rawls wins BOS.

Step Right Up has been spun twice; it took BOS both times. I thought that The Piano Has
Been Drinking was played once, but apparently not.
