So I went looking and we did not get a Giants/World Series set in 2012 -- it was the first month of the Renee era and she wasn't so inclined I guess.

In 2010 we got a Giants victory set on Nov 3rd:

Quote
11/3/10- World Series Wednesday!!  Giants set-Take 2! World Champs!!
 1.  Michael Franti- Say Hey ( I Love You-Giants) (BOS!!)
 2.  Sam & Dave- I Thank You
(Aubrey Huff-"We were underdogs the whole way")
      Underdog TV Theme
 3.  Ashkon- Don't Stop Believing, Giants
 4.  Journey- Lights
(Wilson strikes out Hamilton-Giants shut out Texas 4-0/up 3 games to 1)
5 .  Animals- San Franciscan Nights
(Texas sports announcer-SF-smoking weed/nice people)
  6. Me First and The Gimme Gimmes- San Francisco (Wear Flowers In Your Hair)
(Renteriaaaaaaaaaa-3 run homer against Cliff Lee)
 7.  AC/DC- Thunderstruck
(Paging Walker, Texas Ranger)
 8.  Nancy Sinatra- These Boots Were Made For Walking
(Wilson-"I just want to rage...right now!")
 9.  Rare Earth- I Just Want To Celebrate
(Swing and a Miss-Giants win World series!!)
10. Queen- We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions
(Bobby Thompson's shot heard 'round the world)

and in early Oct of that year we got a Giants-in-the-playoffs set.

Quote
10/7/10-Thursday!! 10 Great Songs For 1 Great Team-GO GIANTS!!

(Opening: Grateful Dead-National Anthem 1993)
1.  Dr. John- Take Me Out To The Ballgame
(Tim "the freak" Lincecum- strike-out #11 vs Arizona)
 2.  Chic- Le Freak
(Aubrey Huff's 1st HR as a Giant !)
 3.   John Fogerty- Centerfield
(Aubrey Huff's at bat tune!)
 4.  Bee Gees- Stayin' Alive
(Pat Burrell's HR gets the 2-1 lead over Dodgers in the 8th)
 5.  James Brown- I Feel Good
(Buster Posey at bat- GRAND SLAM-Go Buster! )
 6.  Ray Parker Jr- Ghost Busters
(Andres Torres HR puts Giants over Rockies)
 7.  Gap Band- You Dropped A Bomb On Me
(Bye Bye Baby/ They Might be Giants by They Might Be Giants)
 8.  House Of Pain- Jump Around!! (for Brian Wilson)
(Brian Wilson's final strike out of regular season. Giants beat Padres 3-Zip)
 9.  Blur- Song 2 (woo-hoooooooo)
(Giants win National League West title- Champagne Shower Time-F**k Yeah!)
10. Tony Bennett- I Left My Heart In San Francisco (BOS!!)

In the 2010 thread it says "I Feel Good" was actually a cover version and not JB but no idea who the artist was.

Both the above sets are pretty awful, musically... hope we fare better this year. OTHO, Fogheads have already requested "Don't Stop Believing", "Centerfield" and "We are the Champions", gawd help us.

This is the type of set that makes me dislike the idea of themed efforts. Hope I'm proven wrong.

I'll be happy when this whole baseball thing is over.  I have no use for the game.  For whatever
reason, the sets of the past few days have been near completely devoid of interest to me.

Although I'm a fan, I can sympathize. There are interesting songs about the game; they just never seem to show up in sets like these.

"It... is.. outta here!" Posey Grand Slam followed by "Ghostbusters" which I was sure we'd avoid this time around -- very 2010 and it's known Buster hates it.

we did "go to eleven" (Extra Innings, sez AL),  tho', so there's that.  ;)

But yeah, I expected nothing out of the ordinary so therefore I wasn't disappointed.

thought the walk-up tunes made it more interesting that it would've been w cliched BB songs. liked the MGMT a lot.

but overall, is 10at10 ever really anything out of the ordinary?
