Title: 17 Oct 2014: it's... 1989
Post by: RGMike on October 16, 2014, 11:48:51 AM
Friday is the 25th anniversary of Loma Prieta, so there's that. Either a quake set (cue "Living on the Faultline"!) or 1989, which is certainly due -- last visit 9/4.

Or, if the Giants win tonite, we could get some sort of tie-in with that (tho' better to wait for the World Series next week).

ETA: and it's '89 -- thread just went up.

A lot of folks on FB were requesting earthquake-theme songs; it's not clear at this point whether we're getting 10 songs from '89 or some sort of hybrid set.

Not unless she goes to 11 or plays it during the backsell.

Wow, that's a disappointment. Granted I didn't hear the clips/segues but there were some good (and event-appropriate) suggestions in the thread... and we heard none. Just the usual-usual. "Love Shack" -- jeebus. And juxtaposing "Everything Is Broken" with a quake clip was clever the first ten times Dave did it but... oy.

And indeed, Here's To Ya -- the only thing missing here was The Call. Or FYC.

oddly, this got some rave reviews in 'snipeland. Go figure.
