and indeed, it's years ending in "2" this week. Someone actually requested "Don't Stop Believin'", which Dred played last nite on Connected.

well, 'tis the season. Steve Perry was at the Giants game today rallying the troops. I think it worked!
-
It's been less than a month since the last visit to 1982...
-
Won't be able to hear the live broadcast, so take notes!
-
TOTHK: "Der Kommissar" -- well, at least it's the Falco version. Daa, dee, da dum.
-
Rocky III --> you guessed it! -- "Eye of the Tiger". LN1 from me; as cheeze this is overripe at this point.
-
Thatcher on the Falklands --> Clash, "Straight to Hell". (I had requested "Know Your Rights") VHM.
-
Henley, "Dirty Laundry". Still a fine song, relevant as ever, but also sorta LN.
-
CNN-2/Andropov takes over in Russia --> Gang of Four! uber-BOS1 "Man in a Uniform". The girls they love to see you shoot...
-
Officer & a Gentleman --> Dexy's, "Come on LN3". Poor ol' Johnnie Ray...
-

Whoa!! An easy BOS pick! Hopefully not the only rarity we hear today.
Now to start lobbying for something from Entertainment! the next time we go to '79.
-
LN4 Mr Crenshaw's "Someday Someway". A Moreytrina that has never gone away.
-
BOS2 Joan Jett, who thinks she can love her in crimson and clover, over and over.
-
uber-LN5 "Town Called Malice", as swell as it is, it would be nice to hear something else from the Jam in '82, like their forgotten "Absolute Beginners" (not the Bowie tune).
-
am I crazy or did we only hear 9 songs? What did I miss?
'snipes agree - only 9 songs.

Seems that way. Happens to the best of them -- Dave did it at least twice that I recall, and once he was so flummoxed when he realized during the backsell that he bailed out and played the outro without finishing the setlist.

I was trolling these archives, expecting to find Mike dissing this song, and to my surprise, only a 'sorta LN!' A ringing endorsement if I ever heard one! Besides a classic song, a great guitar solo I believe by Joe Walsh?

Oh, I'd never say it's not a good song -- often overexposed but never bad. I usually say that if Henley had never been an Eagle, this song and "End of the Innocence" would've put him in the pantheon of important lyicists. And, like a lot of socially-conscious '60s lyrics ("Eve of Destruction" comes to mind) the situations described in "DL" have not only NOT changed, they've gotten worse.

apparently she mentioned the TalkTalk song in her backannounce but didn't actually play it. It woulda been just another FF in this set.

That was veteran dj Dusti Rhodes; I suppose one might expect more creativity from her.

9 songs just like an Austin Bob set, and if she'd played Talk Talk instead of Man in a Uniform then all songs could have been played in a Bob set.

Or maybe not, judging by her 10@10 requests.
