AL liked the request -- maybe she'll do a bustout '79 set for the ages... :)
I threw in my requests to see what will stick: it appears AL likes The Records "Starry Eyes".

Well, I'm with Meat Loaf, 2 out of 3 ain't bad, so I'll be keeping my ears peeled for those Mork & Mindy clips. I guess AL isn't at The Stick, then. Now I'll go request a T-Heads album cut that won't get played.
-
We've heard "Starry Eyes" and "2 out of 3" before, so that increases the odds of hearing both again, it seems. As long as we don't get "Paradise/Dashboard light" which is quite well-traveled, 10@10-wise. I have a premonition about "I Do the Rock", which is also an AL fave.

oy: AL likes Pina Coladas.

Do you like pee in your colada?

Last #1 of the 1970's
-
BOS1 Kinks, tho' "...Superman" is hardly a rarity.
-
Flash & the Pan, a longtime 10@10 fave. VHM for old times sake.
-
Oy2: Charlie Daniels. One I never need to hear again as long as I live. But I'll give props if it's the "son of a bitch" version.
ETA :and it's not. Son of a gun.

Did the devil lose because he played disco?
-
and heeeere's yer Mork & Mindy clip.
OMFG: my Eagles request! a serious bustout!! "The Greeks Don't Want no Freaks" indeed.

Agreed on the BOS - good choice

BOS2 eagles; BOS3 Nick Lowe

Wasn't there a mid-'60's bar band mini-revival around this time (perhaps because of Animal House and Shout)? This song has that sound.
-
BOS4 Nicolette Larson
-
BOS2 eagles; BOS3 Nick Lowe
Also, two consecutive songs with double negatives. So, the Greeks actually want freaks, and Nick thinks it's funny again.
-
This set has turned around nicely.
-
Whoa, Nick L. repped twice.
-
Wasn't a huge fan of Greeks/Freaks at the time it came out (seemed kind of forced to me) but in the context of this set, I'll give it a B+, and a borderline BOS vote.
BOS Nick Lowe, Crackin' Up, and extra points for not being Cruel To Be Kind.
VHM to Tim Reid intro'ing Nicolette Larson.

This set has turned around nicely.
The Elvis is good but LN IMHO
-
Elvis "Peace Love Etc" is kinda LN.

An A+/F? I'll pay more attention to the former and likely make it my BOS.

I'd go A-/D-, but yeah

it was their attempt to sound new wavish on an otherwise fairly boring LP.
-
Might be LN, but Chic adds some spice to this.

This Chic is probably in the same good but not necessary category, and I'm reacting the same: co-BOS.
-
also LN: Chic. And roller skates, roller skates.
"Greeks" is something like the 5th request I've gotten played since the new PD took over. Coincidence? And it was kind odf an afterthought when i was posting last nite
-
Elvis "Peace Love Etc" is kinda LN.
This song works on too many levels for me to consider it not necessary, but of course YMMV.
The Chic song gets points for being the only non-white act so far, but we've heard it far too much to be necessary (granted, that argument could be applied to the EC tune, too).
-
BOS-infinity Life of Brian --> "Bright Side of Life".
-
and Herb Alpert plays us out with "Rise". Nice.
And a particularly chatty AL backannounce. Ah, radio memories...
-
BOS-infinity Life of Brian --> "Bright Side of Life".
And the second censored version to show up in this set. You piece of shit son of a bitch.
However, Looking on the Bright Side of Life is a sentiment that Robin Williams might have gotten behind, so not a bad end for the set.
-
AL sez: Monthy Python/Eric Idle BOS; Hon Mention EC.

Hee. I wouldn't expect "Shit" on the air, but "sonuvabitch" seems awfully tame to me. But the Peak played the uncensored version of "A Boy Named Sue" recently and I was floored because you hear it so rarely..
