No thread last nite. And I didn't hear a promo this morning.
-
Mystery year: "Destination Unknown" by Missing Persons to start. heh.
-
PG, "Shock the Monkey". So, the year is '82.

That's how I'm reading it. Loved this album when it was released (and really, it's still pretty great). Just not this song.
-
We're getting Wimbledon clips between songs.
Fixx, "Stand or Fall' -- we're in FF-y tried-and-true territory so far.
-
The Church, "Unguarded Moment" -- def a rarity, methinks. BOS1.
-
Cheers --> Go-Go's rather unfortunate cover of "Cool Jerk". But a rarity is a rarity and that's 2 in a row.
-
more Cheers --> uber-LN "Don't You Want Me"
-
LN-whatever Marshall Crenshaw, "Someday Someway"

Like the singer, liked the song, heard it way too much, particularly on 10@10.

VHM Split Enz in a leaky boat. An old Morey fave, iirc.

That's my recollection, too. And a fave of mine as well, likely to get my BOS vote once the set is done.
-
eek, F.Mac's "Hold Me" is also an uber-LN at this point.

Care to wager on whether this takes the GS BOS vote? Quite a few folks over there think Stevie and Lindsey et al walk on water.
-
I'm enjoying the set, probably because I avoided all the LN's at the time during my classic rock discovery phase.
-
still more Cheers --> .38 Special "Caught Up in You". WOS, little girl.
pretty short set -- we'll be finished before 10:40.

As bad as it got in 1982.

Per AL on FB, BOS was MC, "SS".

Not even close. Eight votes for the Big Mac, and a 3-way tie for second at two votes apiece.

No amount of snark can change the fact that "Hold Me" is pure crystalline perfection of pop, that still sounds great. I will continue to enjoy it!

I agree that Hold Me is both a great pop song and uber-LN. It's also in fairly rarified air as
a FF, with about two dozen spins on 10@10. I haven't stumbled across many songs in the 20+
range. Perhaps I should start making note of them. Anyway, today's set was so uninspired that
this was one of the bright spots, such as it was.
