My father died when I was three, so I'll listen to the first three, then I have to stop.
What, too soon? ???

This year I'll be as old as my father was when he died from a heart attack, which is a sobering
thought.

indeed, I'm past the age of both my parents' deaths (dad 55, mom 54) and it's a scary thing.

These top-o-the-hour-kommercials are, I presume, pricier to clients because listeners are assumed to be waiting-with-bated-breath for 10@10?
awww... Beach Boys "Gawd Only Knows" to start. BOS1 for being an all-time-fave.
OMG is she gonna follow this with Wilson-Phillips?
ETA: yes! BOS2 for cheezy ballsiness alone.

Yeah, it's a good song. But God Knows I never ever need to hear it again.

Ha! It was probably too much to ask for "Give It Up".

While this transcends LN territory, it's one I've always enjoyed.

I'm guessing "Too Late For Goodbyes" will follow.

LOL. The self-proclaimed prophet does seem to have a talent for being a remarkably awful prognosticator. (I mean, a blind man is bound to call a coin 50% of the time).

Now there's an awesome idea that won't happen.

I find the theme slightly irritating in that we've already gone thru 7 songs on essentially 3 family combinations. I'd've preferred a "songs about fathers" set -- even if it woulda meant "Cats in the Cradle".
-
Family Guy ---> Bob Marley "Get Up, Stand Up"
-
Bob & Ziggy -- perhaps followed by the Frank & Nancy duet? oh please let that be the closer.

Unless we go to 11, we'll either have another threesome, or perhaps a single song about fatherhood. But I agree, this set is way way too predictable.
EDIT: Or as you point out, possibly a combo.

Or maybe Musical Youth? I'd go for a hit on the dutchie right about now.

You can get that on my Father's Day set (starring Groucho Marx)... ;)

She did mention the likelihood of a duet in the intro, which I took to mean Frank & Nancy.
-
Dean Martin and Dino, Desi & Billy are probably out of the question...

Looks like I have fallen victim to an urban myth--I remember being told they were Marley's kids, which now that I look it up, I find was a load of shite.

I never knew that: "Somethin' Stupid" was written by Carson Parks, who is the older brother of Van Dyke Parks. Who'd a' thunk?

AL on FB says Frank & Nancy get BOS.

The concept didn't work for me, either. The father/child song thing changes ten songs into five
pairs, or in this case a triad, three pairs, and a duet. And musically it was all over the map.
The whole was somehow less than the sum of its parts.
A ten song set of parent-child duets might have been more interesting...

TANC: WLNG just played "I'm a Fool". Surely the only station in America that plays it regularly.
