it's early, so perhaps there'll still be a suggestion thread. But I had Jury Duty this afternoon and will be back at the courthouse tomorrow, so here's hoping its a '90s day ;)
and it is: '94 ("the year we lost Kurt Cobain")
-
I would also guess '90s.
One of the many slices of the 10@10 data I am curious about is the distribution of years over
the days of the week. For a while it seemed like Dave often ended the week by playing a '60s
set on Friday. For myself, I'm less likely to expect a '60s set in the middle of the week, or a '90s
show on Friday. I wonder if there actually is a skew in the distribution or if it's just my imagination.

Dave almost always did '60s on Friday, which I believe started out as "Fifties Friday" (before my time) and I think the idea, once he started doing Mornings, was that those sets were shorter and so it got him out the door sooner. That tradition fell by the wayside once AL took over.

VHM Urge Overkill doing Neil D.
Before it clicked in that the clip was from All-American Girl, I thought the mom's accent was Transylvanian, a la Teri Garr in Young Frankenstein.
-
more OJ Bronco chase ---> Green Day "When I Come Around"

-
Pulp Fiction and the Big Kahuna Burger/Royale with cheese ---> Dick Dale & His Del-Tones "Misirlou"
-
Dick Dale? Of course I BOS this, but how does this rate 1994 outside of being in the movie?
and oh, BTW, Get Off My Lawn!
-
It doesn't. I really wish she would stop doing that, especially now that we're getting 60s & 70s sets regularly.

Thrilled to have been quoted in absentia. This was one I'm glad to have missed.
Did the old RGMike quotes make it feel like he was here today shouting "LN"? ;)

Lately it seems to me like a lot of sets are being constructed by using bits and pieces from
other shows, so unfortunately it is quite appropriate to assemble a string of comments from
other threads. If a truly fresh take on the year was presented, you wouldn't have been able
to find any comments related to it.

Hee. Not sorry I missed this; figures an FF like Cake would win BOS.
Jury Duty over -- out-of-court settlement just as opening statements were about to begin -- so here's hoping for '60s tomorrow and Father's Day (or "Dads'n'Grads") Friday.
