I won't be around for the live broadcast today, so take notes!

1. Oingo Boingo - Who Do You Want to Be?
2. Polecats - Make a Circuit With Me
3. Bowie - Let's Dance

The first two I'd tag as rarities (the Oingo Boingo may even be a bustout), and while we've heard the Bowie a whole lot, it def says '83 to me.

Well, we've had Maniac and Safety Dance since, so it's sounding like K-Tel 1983 these last few songs.

(Flashdance promo)
4. Michael Sembello - Maniac
5. Men Without Hats - Safety Dance
(Ted Koppel on Reagan's defense policy>Return of the Jedi)
6. TFF - Mad World

Ah, the rise of Rock of the 80s, with that vaguely anxious, stilted vocal delivery. What's the over-under on Kajagoogoo?

Yep, overall this set is cleaving pretty close to what was getting airplay on Rock of the 80s/MTV in '83.

7. Big Country - In a Big Country

(The Outsiders: Matt Dillon et al)
9. The The - Uncertain Smile
10. Jackson Browne - Tender is the Night

Is this Kinks (Don't Forget to Dance) song 11?

All right, this is just downright silly now.

12. U2, Two Hearts Beat as One

Hmmm, wonder what's up? Is she just in the zone and running with it? Or is there a subtext we're missing?

I can recall Dave going to 12 or 13 once, but the excuse for that was that he was playing the Genesis "Back in NYC/Hairless Heart/Counting Out Time" sequence from The Lamb, and to paraphrase, "you just can't split those up, you just can't do it."

Hmmm is right. I believe she did not mention Big Country or The The when counting down the songs, so she ended up with a nice, even ten.

OK, did she drop a couple songs out of the backsell? She announced the Jackson Browne song as tune #8, iirc.

Despite a couple of rarities, this set had a high LNQ and overall was disappointing.  I would
rate 1983 as the strongest year of the decade, but again the potential wasn't realized.
BTW, Kajagoogoo hasn't appeared that many times on 10@10... off the top of my head, I
would rank just about anything from Men At Work as the highest LN candidates.  I grudgingly
give my BOS nod to Tears For Fears, with an HM for Safety Dance, because I like its
goofy video.

Just noticed that this set still isn't posted on the KFOG page, even though today's set is already up. What up with that? (Btw, did anyone catch last night's replay to see if they let all 12 songs play out, or edited it back to a legitimate 10-song set?)

All 12 songs were repeated. (She also did mention The The, but I couldn't catch which ones she skipped in the backsell.)

The set has been posted, but not in the 10@10 section. It's on KFOG's main SoundCloud page.
