One of the many great things about AL... now one can determine in advance whether they want to listen or not! Without looking, I bet somebody's requested "Suicide Blonde" and "Birdhouse In Your Soul".

EDIT: We should have a new feature, SRW's bold choice of the day:

"Another Day In Paradise" I won't tell you the artist.

My 1990 wish-list -- one of the few years from which I didn't get ANY requests played by AL.

Thieves in the Temple (Prince)
Black cat / Escapade (Janet Jackson)
Mentirosa (Mellow Man Ace)
All Around The World (Lisa Stansfield)
Close to You (Maxi Priest)
Just a Friend (Biz Markie)
Friends in Low Places (Garth Brooks)
Electric Boogie (Marcia Griffiths)
Poison (Bel Biv Devoe)

RGMike, will you be making any of these requests?  ;)

I might miss today's set as well, so take thorough notes!

I requested Biz Markie; I'm limiting myself to one per set, and most folks seem to be doing the same.  And I have a 10:00 meeting too, so I'll be missing this one.

I think AL indicated "a request", and so far people have been generally following that protocol, similar to what happens on "Connected". It's a nice compromise.

10:00 meeting cancelled, so I get to hear this one.

TANC: just before 10@10, we get... "Imagine"

TOTHLN: TMBG, "Istanbul/Constantinople"

I note that the Rock-n-Roll Roulette Wheel has been mothballed -- and nothing seems to have replaced it.

BOS from me... always a fun song, since I haven't heard it in a while.

LN2: Jellyfish "King is Half Undressed"; wonderful tho' it is, it's been a FF since the Morey era.

cockadoodie Misery --> cockadoodie Sinead. "Emperor's New Clothes" -- this is a very DC set so far, IMHO.

oy: Petty makes an obligatory 1990 appearance.

LN3:"Cuts You Up".

LN4 World Party, "Way Down Now" -- which is how I feel about this set.

Copious notes update:

Petty = A Face in the Crowd (not bad, less heard than a number of songs from that period)

Cuts You Up = Peter Murphy  HM. Definitely of its time.

That is all.

Temple o' the Dog, "Hunger Strike"  our rarity of the day, I'm guessing.

I'd've much preferred Milli Vanilli to "Been Caught SteaLN" for the gazillionth time.

Marion Barry does crack --> Social D, "Ring of Fire"  BOS by default, but really, I have to call this disappointing after yesterday.  Somewhere Dennis Constantine is smiling.

I'm guessing you mean Charlatans UK.

I'm guessing the Charlatans UK are trying to just be the Charlatans, which is kind of funny word play.

Y'know what for me is one of THE BEST things about having Annalisa back in the driver's seat?

The backsell actually sounds off the cuff, not like it was being read off a script. I know you know what I mean.

EGG-zactly! Renee is not a spontaneous personality. Fine as a sidekick/traffic person/whatever but in true Peter Principle fashion, she got promoted above her ability.

he obviously typed it with an English accent, so he's allowed to refer to them by their original British name, Charlatans.  :)

My BOS, btw.

Dare I ask: what got BOS today?

ETA: Tuned in around 11AM to hear AL play the emergency alert system test only it was silent.
A few minutes later, AL grumbled "let's try this again" and played the EAT with sound this time around.  Heh.

I listened until a little after 11:30 and did not hear a BOS announcement.  We'll probably have to
demand/request/beg AL to annotate the posted set lists.

I'll try to listen today as long as I can, but once they get into a Mowglis/Fun./Monsters and Mumford cycle it gets difficult.
