KFOG is giving away T-Bone tix for the Mtn. Winery show this Friday. You pay $0.75 convenience fee and $2.50 to print ticket at home. Password is winery. That's one way to sell out a show!
that will be a great show

They were a Berkeley band, maybe you've met somewhere?

not sure what you're looking for, but:

on the way home, KPIG described a lot of the things Billy did in his life, then played that marvelous live track with the George Harrison band doing "That's the Way God Planned It."  That made my day for sure.  Then they played the Beatle "I Me Mine" with Billy on organ.  I was hummin' the first tune all night.

Biggest bullshitters of set: The Byrds, sanctimoniously pot-shotting the Monkees while using studio musicians on their own recordings.

oooohhh a little Shake and Fingerpop with Junior Walker.

Martha and the V's, I can't dance.....
Smokey, Tell me tomorrow.

For some reason, Kingfish used to do a killer version of this tune, and the guitarist, Robbie Hoddinot, was fabulous in invoking that Junior Walker sax vibe.  I always thought Junior Walker's lines were very guitar-like.

(Btw, what about Tom Constanten? He was only in the Dead for a short while, but wasn't he considered a member of the band?)

you get extra credit points!  TC is in that netherworld as to whether he was in the band long enough, but  nonetheless, he escaped!

watching it now; pretty cool, except for the video director barely knows what a bass player is!

Vince occupied the fatal keyboard slot in the Grateful Dead for their last 5 years.  All other keyboardists (except for Bruce Hornsby) have died.  He was a sweet soul, and I interviewed him in 2000:

It's not confirmed yet, but papers say it looks like suicide.

played Fleetwood Mac's "Hypnotized" which just goes to show ya it's not all roots music.  I was diggin' it big time as I was waiting for Travis T Hipp's news show, which had to do with Laura Bush.
