Another Sound "mystery" set -- see if you can guess the connection (without peeking at their website). I sure couldn't have gotten it.

American Girl - Tom Petty
End of the Line - Traveling Wilburys
Bad Moon Rising - CCR
Crazy Little Thing Called Love - Queen
With or Without You - U2
Should I Stay or Should I Go - Clash
Blowin' In the Wind - Bob Dylan
Heart of the Matter - Don Henley
Helpless - Neil Young
Surfer Girl - Beach Boys

All are from white men, all were released prior to 1990.... I'm wondering if it's an early 90's charity event (perhaps 1990 itself, as Mercury died in 91)?

I took a look. ggould might be our only hope here.

yes, geoff might get it. It's not a year, BTW.

so... what's the answer?

I honestly don't remember ... and they don't have a link to the March set-lists anymore.

no, it might've been musical  -- like, they're all in the same key, or something.

Songs for which the name of the tune doesn't appear in its lyrics.

oy, The Sound jumps of the "Vote Em ALL Out!" bandwagon.   I understand,  much of their audience is made of hard rockin' meatheads.

not sure how you're getting that from the songlist -- it seems a plea to "get together" and "work it out". They could've easily done a "politicians suck" set, but they didn't.

it's the Repub's fault, not something that both parties share equally, which is what sets like this imply.

Yeah, I get it -- it's just RnR and not a news report, and it's a theme that everyone can relate to (Oh, that Congress, I tell ya!)  What is Larry Morgan realistically going to do except play it evenly down the middle?

As far as sets go, it's perfectly fine and the music is good, yadda yadda, but most media outlets are reporting on the issue in neutral terms, and it's not a neutral issue.  Here's a great piece on it >>
