So that's twice in a row that Dave's resisted the urge to close a '69 with "Someday We'll Be Together."  Progress!

Maybe he's got a new trend; he used "Because" in each of the last two sets, and "Barabajagal" bridged the 2nd & 3rd previous sets. However, "Someday We'll Be Together" has only appeared once in the last 4 sets.

12/27/05 - Tuesday! 10 @ 10 Classic from 1969!
Bob Seger - Ramblin' Gamblin' Man
Fleetwood Mac - Rattlesnake Shake
Spirit - I Got a Line on You
Beatles - Because
King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King (BEST OF SET!)
Sir Douglas Quintet - Mendocino
Rascals - See
Donovan / Jeff Beck - Barabajagal
Young Hot Unlimited - Soulful Strut
Sly & the Family Stone - Hot Fun in the Summertime
BONUS TRACK: Elvis Presley - Suspicious Minds

10/14/05 - Finally FRIDAY!!! Back to...1969!!!
Sir Douglas Quintet - Mendocino
Jeff Beck - Plynth
Donovan (with Jeff Beck) - Barabajagal
Tommy James & the Shondells - Sweet Cherry Wine (B-O-S!!)
John Lennon - Love
Steam - Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye
Nilsson - Everybody's Talkin'
Doors - Wishful Sinful
Rascals - See
Diana Ross & the Supremes - Someday We'll Be Together

I'll chime in a BOS to da Stones for Gimme Shelter. If anyone debates their status as the Worlds Greatest Rock Band at the time this was recorded, I submit this song.

I also see this as a zenith of sorts for the Stones, but point out there were other great bands around at the time too!
Don't stand in the way of LOVE!

indeed -- this was a better-than average week, thanks to no '90s. I haven't done the Marathon in a while (I usually prefer waking up to KPIG on Saturday) but I'll listen this week.
