I expect that was song #1.  Gonna miss the set, though: I have to pick up my severance check from DRS, then I have a lunch meeting with the folks at StarPolish.  Hoping to be back in time for Dave's set, especially since I'm still working on my piece for the Voice.  Enjoy 1972!

P.S.  Any tipoffs from Dave?  I'm *really* in the mood to hear Player's "Baby Come Back" today.

If we don't get the annual Kaboom set from Dave then I'd be concerned that the fireworks are gonna be cancelled.

Presumably today's is the annual "KaBOOM! Set".  One each from the featured artists, and songs with fireworks references -- "Fourth of July Asbury Park (Sandy)", anyone?

VHM (and poss BOS), "Vincent". Anything from this LP is preferable to "American Pie" at this point.  Would love to hear "Winterlude" or one of the lesser-known tracks.

The commercial on the Drive just now mentioned a gasoline credit card from "Citgo" -- didn't that brand cease to exist ages ago? Didn't they become Getty?

Thanks, I don't know why I thought that -- but Getty used to be called something else, no? I remember Getty stations suddenly appeared in the NY area in the '70s.  And I thought Citgo disappeared from the NY market around the same time Or maybe it was the drugs.

Speaking of I Saw the Light, I just spent a couple of days (in my off time only, of course) hunting up a copy of a recently distributed Teenage Fanclub EP that includes their cover of that very song. Will report back once I get it--it's en route from Dundee Scotland.
