Heard the promo twice yesterday afternoon.
I predict the Katrinas will be Cars "A Dream Away", Fleetwood Mac "Hold Me", Bill Nelson "Flaming Desire".

Didn't we just hear Flaming Desire the last time we hit '82? It was TOTHK, iirc.
ETA: Yep--see here: http://10at10club.com/forum/index.php?topic=4396.msg75481#msg75481

Not that that's ever stopped Dave "I don't keep records of sets" Morey before.

Hoping for no Cars.
Perhaps:
Athena
Down Under or Who can it be now
Fantasy
Genius of Love
Jukebox Hero
Let it Whip
You Dropped a Bomb on Me
On the Loose
Southern Cross
-
.
Down Under or Who can it be now
You don't seriously WANT either of those do ya? :)
any bustout (just one, Dave, it's all I ask) would be swell.

Evocative of the time. I'd really like Genius of Love.

Apparently the studio's computer blew up during the last set prior to 10@10--Dave came out of TFF's Everybody Wants to Rule the World saying "I really don't need this when I'm trying to quit smoking." So maybe he's trying to go it cold turkey.
(Btw, prior to TFF he played Fastball's glorious The Way--hardly ever hear that anymore.)
ETA: Dave's tossed in the towel on a new set--we're getting a classic today! BUT! TOTHK is Peter Gabriel's I Have The Touch!! Great!

They seem to have had more than usual computer mishaps these last couple months. Perhaps its time to go back to ol' reliable turntables, carts and reel-to-reels!

"shake those hands! shake those hands!"

Love + 1 = 'Trina. But VHM anyway, still a wonderful track.
-
BOS Jam -- "TCM" was #1 on this week's CG retro-chart. And a hundred lonely housewives clutch empty milk bottles to their hearts...
-
Both yesterday and today, I can't get the stream.
but I tried again yesterday at about 2 pm and it came in fine.
Go figgur

Hey Rastermon, long time no see! You and I are going to be neighbors (almost) in about a month--I'm moving to Dundee the first week of June.

I couldn't get it thru the WM link on this site, but the actual player on the KFOG site is working for me.
VHM Stones.
-
Hearing Stones "WFAF" reminds me of that video, them hangin' out in the Village.

"onna corner of West 8th St and 6th Avenoo..."
Oh wait, different song.
"Keef --watchoo doin'?"

Do we know from db when this set aired?
-
I have to bail for a meeting, but as '82 classics go, this hasn't been bad.
Well, until the Cars showed up ::)

In Yamhill county, near Newberg. About 26 mi. SW of Portland, and about the same NW of Salem. And about an hour's drive (or so I'm told) from Corvallis.

I haven't checked yet, but here's my Cars prediction.
-
Do we know from db when this set aired?
Jan 16 of 2007. It gets better again after the Cars are done.

Thanks, and I don't mind the Cars, just not in every '80s set.

I have to think that the segue into this out of the early AIDS clip ("A third have died, and none have been cured") is poignant for Dave, who moved here in '82 with his partner and pretty quickly lost him to AIDS. So I'm pretty sure when Dave plays the lyrics...
I dont need no booze
Dont need a virgin priest
But I need someone I can cry to
I need someone to protect
Making love and breaking hearts
It is a game for youth
...I know who he's thinking about.
-
Being dead don't hurt, no, only dying.
BOS "I Confess"
-
"Dammit Janet, who can I turn to?"
deliberate mondegreen from my college days
of course the best line in this song is "I tried my imagination, but I was disturbed".
-
My parents have had an 867-**** phone # since moving to Phoenix in '82. Needless to say, their # was easy to remember due to that song.
And "all you do to me is talk talk!"
-

Especially since it was the groovy extended mix. Forgot to point that out real time, but remembered when Dave mentioned it on the recap.
