Listening to the Bone...
« on: November 19, 2007, 12:07:36 PM »
So, I'm trying to get on the Bone Payroll again, so I actually have to listen to the bone all day.  Today, Steven Seaweed is doing a whistling theme for the lunch hour.

Starting off with GnR, Patience.

Predicting Hocus Pocus to come.
and any fool knows

a shelter
from pigs on the wing

ETA:  According to Steven, the biggest selling song ever in Germany.  Must be David Hasselhof's cover...

I can't remember if the song directly referenced the tumbling of the Wall, but the video certainly did.

They apparently wrote the song while visiting Moscow (hence the opening lines) in mid 1989, with Glasnost in the air, so it was originally about Russia more than Germany.  The Wall came down on Nov 9th* that year, and the album was released later in 1990.

*Numerology note: interesting that the two most important, world-changing dates in our lifetimes are 11/9 and 9/11

I follow the Moskva
Down to Gorky Park
Listening to the wind of change
An August summer night
Soldiers passing by
Listening to the wind of change

The world is closing in
Did you ever think
That we could be so close, like brothers
The future's in the air
I can feel it everywhere
Blowing with the wind of change

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
in the wind of change

Walking down the street
Distant memories
Are buried in the past forever
I follow the Moskva
Down to Gorky Park
Listening to the wind of change

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams
With you and me
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
in the wind of change

The wind of change
Blows straight into the face of time
Like a stormwind that will ring the freedom bell
For peace of mind
Let your balalaika sing
What my guitar wants to say

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams
With you and me
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
in the wind of change
"Music is the Earth, People are the Flowers, and I am the Hose."

Lamont and Tonelli (and Sully) are doing their drunk driving show this morning.  Surprisingly entertaining, especially when they're messing with the traffic girl.

But Sully's no Johnny Fever.

"their drunk driving show"?  What does this entail?

it's gotta be better than "Mammaries Monday", "Titties Tuesday" or "Fart-Lighting Friday".
