1969 Thurs 5/12/05 -- fingers crossed!

This week's Drive "artist potrait" is a salute to Motown, which means the RIAA streaming rules shouldn't come into play if they do it right. Here's hoping...

I hope you're right.  In case you are, here are my predictions:

Blood, Sweat & Tears - And When I Die
Doors - Wishful Sinful
Dylan - Lay Lady Lay
Beatles - Oh! Darling
Smith - Baby It's You
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

the stream appears to be working -- yay! But they just played something from the NEW Styx album, a covers collection. We heard a medley of "Find the Cost of Freedom" and "Can't Find My way Home".  Apparently they also do an acoustic re-do of their own "Blue Collar Man" (!)

"Whipping Post" into "See Me Feel Me" -- if it was Dave I'd say that was a cutesy seg, but I don't think Bob had anything in mind.

Steam, "Na Na...", which I could easily go the next ten years without ever hearing again.

CSN Marrakesh Express sounds good too.  This Moody Blues shtick I never liked, but I like the song it leads to.

OMFG!  Neil D, "Holly Holy"! What a year he had -- and what a '69 set this is turning out to be.  Best Bob's done in a long while.

wow I never thought of that but ... totally!

Polythene Pam is so good lookin' but she looks like a man -- another friend of Desmond & Molly and Mademoiselle Kitty.
