Title: 25 March 2010: "a stop in the '60s" -- 1967!
Post by: RGMike on March 25, 2010, 08:32:19 AM
wow, we really do get '60s twice in one week. Geezers RULE!

ETA: it would seem '65 is the year we've visited least-recently; we've only done '64 once in the AL era and a couple of '60s VTs.  (I'm thinking AL should do '64 next week for the anniv of the Beatles having the Top 5 singles.)

AL mentioned "I Spy" and "Mission Impossible" in her pre-recorded promo.

Expect clips from both, Mr Phelps.

good sense, in a sense, crippled mankind.  BOS SAC.

Someone on the KFOG FB page complained that they were doing too many old years on 10@10 -- I'm sure that person's head just exploded.

(I'm thinking AL should do '64 next week for the anniv of the Beatles having the Top 5 singles.)

I was thinking the same thing.  My brother Joel was born that week, and the chart was dated on his birthday, April 3 (which is also PoC's b-day).

BOS for the strangest color blue.

Mini theme - SAC had the color of time, and Donovan rattled off about 20 color names.

hybrid, and one of the earliest examples of such (as opposed to Get Smart!, which was out-and-out spoof).

Another gem from AL, and three more debuts per the DB: Buffalo Springfield, Leonard Cohen, and Aretha.  Also, Lucy in the Sky was a bustout in year-based sets--it had only appeared in theme sets prior to this.

good sense, in a sense, crippled mankind.  BOS SAC.

Someone on the KFOG FB page complained that they were doing too many old years on 10@10 -- I'm sure that person's head just exploded.

Just noticed that in the last two weeks, the "newest" year-based set AL has done is 1980--with several great theme sets, and a couple of 60s sets for good measure. Nicely played, AL--although I'll bet that run ends tomorrow.
