I don't think anyone's done a Mom set before. Suggestions?
John Lennon, "Mother"
Intruders "I'll Always Love My Mama"
Beatles (yay) "Your Mother Should Know"
I really hope Bob doesn't play "Bohemian Rhapsody" just cause of the "mama" part.

let's get nuts:
One Nation Under a Groove! -- or any Funkadelic from the Mothership
anything from the Mothers of Invention
ABBA - Mamma Mia
Styx - Renegade -- "oh, mama..." fits into the Bohemian Rhapsody class -- mere mention of "mama"

And then there's the gawdawful Genesis-when-they-sucked song that's actually called Mama. I'd much rather hear Peter Gabriel's Mother of Violence.

oh we'll definitely get that one. Guaranteed.
Shirelles -- "Mama Said"
Supes -- "I'm Living in Shame"
would Bob dare play Merle Haggard's "Mama Tried"?
-
I like the Supes suggestion. Also: Junior, "Mama Used to Say."
-
Junior, "Mama Used to Say."
OMG if Bob played that I'd fly to Chicago and blow him personally. Not holdin' my breath.
-
Bob gots to have a "Mother Popcorn" for me. But I hope he avoids Crapton's "Motherless Children who have a hard time when their mother is dead, lawd". ;)
But I bet we get Pink Floyd's "Mother"
-
Certainly rhymin' Simon's "Mother and Child Reunion."
-
I immediately thought of those last two suggestions (Floyd & Simon) and as I read further down the thread I was beginning to wonder about you guys, but finally there they are.
-
One more: Roxy Music's incomparable Mother of Pearl.
I'd never trade you for another girl.
(10 Frink points if you can tell me what they're singing about.)
-
Bread, "Mother Freedom"!
Schoolhouse Rock, "Mother Necessity." (Where would we be?)
-
How could we forget:
Stones, "Mother's Little Helper"
Ozzy "Mama I'm Coming Home"
EJ "Mama Can't Buy You Love"
Quiet Riot (or Slade) "Mama Weer All Crazee Now"
J-5 "Mama's Pearl"
TFF, "Mother's Talk"
Given the many options, it's amazing Dave never did a Mother's Day set. But I hope Bob avoids "Motorcycle Mama"...
-
Webster & Co did a My 3 Moms around 6:30 --
"Mother Little helper"
"Mother & Child Reunion"
"Take Your Mama Out"
safe bet that Bob plays the first 2; I'll be shocked if the Drive's listeners even know who Scissor Sisters *are*.

It's "the mother of all 10@10s"!
Bob leads off with the Beatles, natch.
-
oops! how could we have forgotten "Yo' Mama Don't Dance".
-
as predicted: Pink Floyd.
-
Mama Told Bob:"Don't forget 3DN".
-
"Mama told me not to come."

-
Mr Simon, as expected, Chinese menu in hand.

BOS for cheeze factor alone: Ozzy.

That's two in a row off of this list, and I really didn't expect the Ozzy.
Big BOS

kudos on the Sisters. I love getting Mom jacked up on some cheap champagne for her Special Day!
-
...and after you get her jacked up on cheap champagne you gotsto tie her down!

Based on Bob's AOR-centric '80s sets, I'm not surprised by the Ozzy. He knows who his audience is, for better or worse.
BOS2 and nicest surprise: Queen, "Tie Your Mother Down"!!

BOS3 John. Still an amazing song; anyone else beside me ever heard the Streisand cover of this?

My thoughts exactly!

Beatles - Your Mother Should Know
Loggins & Messina - Your Mama Don't Dance
Pink Floyd - Mother
Three Dog Night - Mama Told Me Not to Come
Paul Simon - Mother and Child Reunion
Rolling Stones - Mother's Little Helper
Ozzy Osbourne - Mama I'm Coming Home
Queen - Tie Your Mother Down
John Lennon - Mother
Beatles - Julia
Very nicely done. But Bob -- we all know what "Mother & Child Reunion" is really about. Never heard that Vietnam theory before.
-
so... will Bob also do a Father's day set?

It should start with "Hungry Heart."
