here we go! Back to class in a few minutes for me.
-
This could be a wild card of a set; '81 was quite a year of transition. Squeeze is a promising opener; HM. I'm hoping for something very indie, though - like "Shaddup You Face" or "Fish Heads."
-
The Morey-Morey-Morey cool down! BOS Squeeze. BOS2 Pretenders best-mondegreen-evah, "Mystery G-Man"
-
I go back into my rabbit hole at 10:18, so this Pretenders tune is pretty BOS-y so far.
-
so, was Reagan in bed with the Iranians to keep the hostages away until the election?
-
wow, Dave's s-s-smokin' today -- I make-a H&O BOS3!
-
so, was Reagan in bed with the Iranians to keep the hostages away until the election?
that's a conundrum for the ages -- much-debated, tho' *technically* nothing's been proven.
-
BOS to the mighty Quarterflash. Mark, did you know Elise from the Schwab days was a huge fan of this song?
-
VHM
Seafood Mama Quarterflash. I prefer to be half-flashed, myself.
-
VHM Jr Walker's fab sax on "Urgent" -- otherwise, Foreigner was on the downside of creativity at this point.
I have a 12-inch of Shirley Brown (of "Woman to Woman" fame) doing a dance-diva version of this.
-
CLASH!

-
missed the first few but QF was a rude welcome for me, (sorry Gaz).
BOS to those Foreigners (except for singer Lou Grammatico, the American)
edit: oops, I meant especially for Lou...
-
and it all comes tumbling down with the ONLY Clash track Dave knows/likes from Sandinista!, "Mag 'Trina". Sheesh, Dave -- I mean, really. We were doing really well today until now.
-
"I smell love in the air"? Eww!
-

on the other hand, "Sushi Girl" just sucks.
-
"I smell love in the air"? Eww!
"what's that smell like fish, oh baby?"
-
ah, Dave loves him some Excalibur, tho' I always think this clip is Python/Holy Grail at first.
and here's Sting to, er, pull out *his* sword...
-
Behold EXCALIBER! (good film)

-
BOS2 Police - coupla demo men

ah, Leah -- it's "Ah Leah"! Donnie Iris can't stop the burning -- there's an ointment for that, Donnie. VHM, still a great rock single from a period when rock radio was fighting with itself.
-
And you'll recall in 1970 Donnie Iris (real name Dominic Ierace) wrote and sang "The Rapper" as part of the Jaggerz:

well put! I always have to turn this one up...
-
And Slick Rick likes to taste her (sushi) every time they meet. VHM the overplayed but still admirable "Super Freak".
-

It's an article of faith with me. Casper & Poindexter did it.

Looks like he's going for a Buddy Holly look, but he shoulda seen a dentist first. Man, bad teeth...

That's very generous of you. There is never a time nor a place for a banana-yellow tux jacket. Mr. Iris (pronounced in Pittsburgh as "Dawny Ahhrrs") had yet to master the medium of video.
Agreed on the teeth, of course.
