Hour 3: BOS7 M/A/R/R/S; WOS5 "Father Figure" -- George M at his creepiest.  "Got My Mind Set" -- George H at his poppiest.

BOS8 and another HAAAY! -- Taylor Dyke Dayne, "Tell it to Mah Hawt".

Casey gets Rick-rolled! VHM.  and WOS6 Mr Swayze, "She Breaks Some Wind"

'79 Hour 1: proxy of cairo, The Babys; BOS1 the BeeGees, "Tragedy". And it's a tragedy we miss the first hour of this orig 4-hour show.

BOS2 and proxy of shray "Home & Dry". Vaguely creepy LDD: "Hot Child in the City". Sounds like she shoulda dedicated Dolly's "Baby I'm Burnin'", which gets a VHM -- if only we'd gotten the club remix.

BOS3 Nigel Olssen's lovely "Dancin' Shoes".  And speaking of dancin' -- I never need to hear "Shake Your Groove Thing" ever again.

Hey BJ: keep it to yourself, it's *your* life.  BOS4 Sweet Melissa, doing the "female Barry Manilow" shtick better than Dionne W did. "Don't Cry Out Loud" is a fine Peter Allen/Carole Bayer Sager compo.

Chanson's "Don't Hold Back" is quite the forgotten disco nugget. I want to like it more than I do; it's a tad too generic.

OMFG! uber-BOS5 to this hour's extra: Cher's "Take Me Home"!

Hour 2 (which is really Hour 3): BOS6 one of my fave Foreigner songs, "BM, BD"

VHM "The Gambler" story-song writing at its finest. Don Schlitz: underappreciated genius. And Mr Rogers... well...

http://menwholooklikekennyrogers.com/

Chicago check in to the "No Tell" Motel.  If you're gonna pad the hour by playing Miss Ross' "Ain't No Mountain" as an extra, would it kill you to play the looong version?

BOS7 "Heaven Knows"; WOS1 Blues Bros; VHM Ian Matthews, shakin' it.

BOS8 Cheryl Lynn; uber-BOS9 Ace Frehley!  Cheeze for brunch: Leif Garrett goes disco. And sorry, Barry, but I prefer Ms Reddy's orig "Somewhere in the Night"

anyone else detecting a theme with this week's extras?  Amii Stewart shows up:

Hour 3: BOS10 Nicolette-does-Neil (Hrm... wonder if she actually did?).  VHM "Too Much Heaven" -- the theme from the Pat Robertson Story!

"September" was a hit in February? The mind reels!

1982 Hour 1: Mr I sings for Q; JJ loves RnR.

WOS1 Donnie Iris and one of his forgotten follow-ups to "Ah Leah". VHM the Pointers equally forgotten but delightful "Should I Do It?". Wish I could say the same for the Oak Ridge Boys' painfully obvious "Elvira" clone, "B-B-B-Bobbie Sue". It always amused me that in '82/'83, when pop music was poised to revive the '60s, Country artists were just discovering the '50s.

BOSFRA ABBA's "All Is Said & Done", one you NEVER hear; VHM Rod's "Tonight I'm Yours" Don't hurt him! Don't hurt him!

a couple o' covers: VHM Del Shannon, doing "Sea Of Love", backed by the Heartbreakers and produced by Petty; the first of a mini-trend of '50s artists making comebacks with the help of current superstars (Gary US Bonds/Springsteen; Mitch Ryder/JCM). WOS2 LadyCliff's unnecessary remake of "Daddy's Home".

Always a BOS(2) for the Go-Go girls.

WOS3 this ONJ extra -- I'll "Make a Move" to change the station, Livvy.

Hour 2: Eddie Schwartz?? WHO?? A forgotten artist with a forgettable song, another of the McDonald/Doobs clones of the period.

WOS3 LoverSagaBoy. Good lord, followed by "Abacab", just like on that Drive 10@10 the other day.

Lettuce groove! VHM EWF.  A friend of mine back then thought "Key Largo" was one of the Worst. Lyrics. EVAH. I find it sweetly cheezy.

eeek: WOS4 "Pac-Man Fever", one of the worst '80s novelty songs this side of "Curly Shuffle"

unexpected BOS3 Barry M's lovely "Somewhere Down the Road" sounding very nice today.  VHM Stevie's "That Girl"

Hour 3: I'll be bailing within the half-hour, but VHM Rick Springfield's "Love Is Alright Tonite", an Alison, as its lyrics contain the phrase "working class dog"

Mira! Mira! it's Miss Ross with "Mirror Mirror"! VHM.

aaack: Kenny R at his sappiest, and the Goat at her goatiest.  But in-between: BOS4 Sheena's underappreciated "You Could've Been With Me"

This week, That '70s Casey visits Feb 17th 1973:

http://www.charismusicgroup.com/Cue%20Sheets/02-17-73.pdf

(an utterly amazing chart, that one)

And Casey's '80s is from Feb 21st 1987:

and it beings amazingly with one of Gladys' best, followed by "Superfly". BOSes 1&2. natch.

Religion rears its ugly head: S&C worship hummingbirds; the Doobs find Jeezus.

This is quite the sledgehammer-laden chart for me; Feb '73 was a pivotal moment in my life.

BOS3 Bread's lovely, underheard "Aubrey"; BOS4 Ms Murray's equally lovely Loggins cover.

Gallery's "Miss Ruth Ann" is forgettable. VHM Bobby W, singin' 'bout lazy shiftless white folk.

The 5-D do their best to make a song from the flop musical Lost Horizon seem hip.

Mrs Jones gets into Billy Paul's pants; JB has ants in his -- BOS5.

VHM the Iggles; the Moodies "Just a Singer" gets the Song-I've-Heard-the-Most-Times-This-Month Award (non-KFOG division).

Looks like a good chart. I haven't listened to at40 in months...just fell out of the routine.  I see Don McLean has an entry called 'Dreidel' -- out of season perhaps, but Mazel Tov, anyway!

Hour 2: VHM Chuck Berry's far-superior follow-up to the horrid "My Ding-a-Ling", "Reelin' & Rockin'" -- How this ever got airplay is astounding. We boogied in the kitchen/We boogied in the hall/I got some on my finger so I wiped it on the wall (!!)

BOS6 Joni, like a radio. BOS7 Deodato.

Macca pulls out his sweet banana. Don McLean spins his dreidel. VHMs to both.  BOS8 Miss Midler's first chart hit, a sultry re-imagining of "Do You Wanna Dance?" But yo' mama don't wanna, sez L&M.

WOS Brighter Side of Darkness, boring us with "a long IRREVVALENT [sic] conversation" -- the only good thing about the hilariously bad "Love Jones" is that it inspired "Basketball Jones".  Dr Hook make the cover; Fogerty celebrates Cajun cuisine a decade before Paul Prudhomme.

BOS9 "Touble Man".  Mondegreen of the Week: "your best friend Rhoda told me", from Jermaine's "Daddy's Home" cover.

Hour 3: awwww.... VHM Edward Bear. And the world is a superstitious ghetto.

BOS10: Mr Denver gets Rocky Mtn high.

Ah loves me some Timmy Thomas!

Don't expect Lobo to be your BFF. But he'll be your VHM.

BOS11 "Dueling Banjos"; VHM Hurricane Smith; BOS12 Carly & Warren & Mick.

this hour's extra: the One-Eyed Gott!  Damn, I'd love to hear the Hamilton Joe Frank & Reynolds version.

Casey's '80s is from Feb 21st 1987:

http://www.oldradioshows.com/at40/022187.html

despite a few gems this chart is WOS/LN City -- Crowded House, Genesis, Starship, Robbie Nevil... eeek.  Might be better to listen to Kiss-FM's "Totally '80s Weekend" which I caught some of yesterday and which was, like, awesome.
