I'm usually upset at missing the first hour of these 4-hour shows, but aside from EJ's underrated "Part-Time Love", nothing earth-shattering in the lost hour today.

We begin with Alice C's "How You Gonna See Me Now" -- a forgotten hit if ever there was. VHM.

BOS1 Eric Cartman's nightmare: 2 Jews singin' about gold.

LAWD! BOS2 Funkadelic undah a GROOVE, suckah!

BOS3 Mr Carmen's lovely "Change of Heart".

WOS1 Pablo Snooze; WOS2 Foxy's "Get Off", easily one of the 3 or 4 worst disco hits of that era. "Tie me up at your place"? Wha??

awww... VHM Paul Davis' "Sweet Life", without Zack or Cody.

BOS4 "Straight On", one of my fave Heart 45s.

VHM "Y-M-C-HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY"!  And another VHM Blue Collar Styx

nice Canuck extra: Nazareth's rockin' cover of Joni's "This Flight Tonight"

Hour 2: uber-BOS5 (and "HAAAAAAAY"2) the faaaaabulous Sylvester -- I'd forgotten that "Dance (Disco Heat)" made it to the Top 20.

Chicago's alive again, heh.

BOS6 Al Stewart's always-lovely "Time Passages"

Andy Gibb, who threw it all away, sings "Don't Throw it all Away". Irony sucks.

WOS3 Dr Hook.

BOS7 and "HAAAAAAAAY"3, Alicia Bridges. Ack-SHAWN!

Barry M twice in 15 minutes is bad scheduling, Casey. But VHM and proxy of Gaz "Ready to Take a Chance"

'87 Hour 1: instant double "HAAAAAAY" to Levert and Prince/Sheena. BOSes 1 & 2. Color me taken aback!

Mr Hutchence's knees are so raw. or something.  WOS1 Kenny G, despite the presence of the great Lenny Williams on vocals. And DefLep's "Animal" twice in one week is just unnecessary.

This Timothy B Schmidt tune is NTM. And WOS2.  VHM JCM; "HAAAAAAY"3 the former Leslie Wunderman, better known as Taylor Dayne, "Tell it to my Heart". But talk to the hand, honey. H-4 to Expose, bitches!

Pretty much agree with all RG's BOSes, H's, and WOSes.  Though, I've never been a fan of "So Emotional".  I prefer Whitney's earlier stuff. 

Is it me, or was '87 way better than '86, music-wise?

WTF? CKRU seems to be stuck in the same "endless commercials" loop that KFOG's player was in last week. We're hearing clips of Donny Osmonds syndicated show and spot after spot after spot. Damn!

the commercials ended and now we're hearing music, but no Casey. OTOH, I hadn't heard Anne Murray's "Talk it Over in the Morning" in ages.

ETA: 11am and here's hour 2, starting with #27, Donnie Elbert's Supes cover. Somebody musta lost the Hour 1 CD.

BOS1 Coven's wonderful "One Tin Soldier"; BOS2 Dennis Coffey's s-s-s-smokin' "Scorpio".

Chicago asks "Questions"; Neil D. throws "Stones" -- BOS3, lawdy child. Marvin make me wanna holla!

"Don't Pull Your Love" was initially offered to the Grass Roots, but before they could pull the trigger, Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds snapped it up.  The songwriters assured them, "Don't worry, we'll write you another one," and cranked out 2/<3.

BOS 3DN.  A few weeks ago I sang "Old-Fashioned Love Song" at my local bar that does weekly karaoke; sadly, it was WAY before the crowd's time.  Damn early-20smethings don't know their pop history!  >:(
