proxies of Gaz: Level 42, "Lessons in Love", and Company B's "Fascinated", which gets a VHM from me.

BOS Whitney at her most appealing: "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who's Lezby)"

Mick Hufnall tries to do it "sexily right" while the chorus urges him to "get on top more". VHM for WTF-ness alone.

Yikes! Hour #3 starts with 3 more WOSes: Lionel Richie's "Se La"; perennial WOS-er Kenny Loggins with "Meet Me Halfway" (from the Stallone arm-wrestling flick Over the Top!); and Chicago's "If She Would Have Been Faithful" -- wimpy even without Cetera singing lead.

VHM Miss-Jackson-if-ya-nasty telling her boss Mr Alpert that love don't come for free; BOS2 Lisa Lisa giving head to your toe. Toe-sucker!

BOS3 and flashback-of-the-week, Breakfast Club's "Right On Track", which I haven't heard in ages.

uber-BOS4 Poison's fabtastic "Talk Dirty To Me", one of the best stoopid rock singles of that decade.

The '70s chart had "Strange Magic"; this one has strange Madge and young girls with eyes like potatoes.

Frederick Knight's "I've Been Lonely for So Long" is NTM, and frankly, I can't believe it cracked the 40.  Quavering falsetto like Pete Wingfield's "18 With a Bullet," with the mildest of melodies.
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

Andy Williams' "Speak Softly Love" from The Godfather is NTM as well, though I've been aware of it for years.  It's a pale cousin to the previous year's "Love Story (Where Do I Begin)."

Sad story about how the Moody Blues were robbed of $500K by their managers when they first hit it big.  The music industry has always been a despicable place, a fact I try to ignore most of the time.

Apropos of everything, BOS1 to the Moodies and "Isn't Life Strange?"  It's a different version on my GH comp.

AAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

There are only two things in the world that sound worse to me than a set of bagpipes.

Two sets of bagpipes.

No offense to them, but major WOS to the Blah Blah Dragoon Corps' "Amazing Grace."

BOS2 to Millie Jackson on principle - she deserved  better from many of her singles - on "Ask Me What You Want."  Comparatively a little lightweight for her, but she still sells it well.  You guys know her song "Child of God"?  It's stunning.

Hey Gaz, I just tuned in to the Canadian station... ya just missed Lighthouse's "Pretty Lady"!  Miss Millie rules, "Ask Me.." is a pop-soul delight and really, that was before she assumed her darker persona.

WOS "Troglodyte"

But OMG -- nicest surprise of the morning, one of Casey's "extras" is Cher's forgotten "Living in a House Divided". And even better, one of the Canadian extras is Neil's "Four Strong Winds"!

VHM MJ's "Rockin Robin" -- Motown noticed the stirrings of '50s nostalgia that year, somewhat ahead of the curve. The J-5 also did "Little Bitty Pretty One", coming up in the next hour.

There's a wild-man wizard hiding in Harry Chapin, illuminating his mind. Er, what?

WOS2 Ringo, backing off.  Thank gawd Richard Perry entered the picture the following year.

But here come 3 fab singles in a row: Mr. Simon meets Julio and Rosie the Queen of Corona

Todd sees the light, and Glodean and the girls get caught in the rain and call Barry to tell him all about it.  ooo! it's the looong version!
