This week Casey's '70s visits Jan 30th 1976

http://www.wods.com/pages/6218666.php

Is it me or is '76 the most-visited year?

BTW, meant to ask this the other day, but those of you who listen to the '80s show, broadcast version, could you post links to the stations you listen on? I'd like to get back to hearing the '80s charts, which I had to stop because my old PC was incompatible with anybody's players.

I get the link from here: http://radiotime.com/options/p_154285/American_Top_40_-_The_80s.aspx

I use the Sunday, 5 PM one, which is JACK-FM in Baltimore. http://www.wqsr.com/

I use SFGuy's link, or if I'm up early enough Sundays (8am ET), I go to KMMX in Lubbock: http://www.kmmx.com/

It certainly does seem that way lately.  I feel as though we haven't hit '74 in a long time.  Anyone inclined to keep a Shraytabase-esque log of this stuff?

And I really wish the '80s rebroadcasts would loop '79 in.

FYI: here's the 1/31/76 chart showing the commercial breaks & "Extra" songs:
http://www.whnn.com/goout.asp?u=http://images.radcity.net/5874/4156111.pdf

Yes, '76 seems to come up fairly often, '74 less so.  As you know, a recap of recent replays is shown on the WODS and WBBG "AT40" webpages:
http://www.wods.com/pages/3999947.php?
http://www.wbbgfm.com/pages/pp_caseykasem.html
Perhaps somewhere on Web is a list of AT40's that aired last year and those planned for this year.

Ay yi yi - WOS to Cletus Maggard (?)'s "The White Knight."  This is just unlistenable.

BOS to the mighty O'Jays, "I Love Music."  The most ahead-of-its-time of all the Philly Int'l tunes, I think.

I'm skipping the 80's version this week. It's from January 30, 1988.

Truly hideous -- so it won't surprise you to learn it was a #1 Country single.

Some fine forgotten gems in the first hour, tho': Garfunkel's "Breakaway", the Spinners' "Love or Leave", Ms Ronstadt's pedal-steel-y Smokey cover, and Big Barry lettin' the music play because "She's at home... yeah... she's at home..." And I must admit a soft spot for EJ's silly "Grow Some Funk". Oh, he was so MACHO!  Guess love wasn't so tender with his fanny.

I've tuned into the '80s version at the start of Hour2 -- Cher at #29 with "Ah Found Sohmwhon", followed by George Michael's Faith Machine.

Pick up on THIS! '80s BOS to Salt'n'Pepa's fabulous, seminal "Push It" -- all the straight guys at my Queens gym in 1988 thought they were saying "Pussy's REAL good!"

Followed by the equally ground-breaking "Pump Up the Volume".

OMG! I've been Rick-rolled!  Gotta say I'm glad I tuned in here -- why can't late-80s 10@10s draw on more of this stuff?

Case in point: BOS2 Men Without Hats' wonderful "Pop Goes the World".

AAAAACK! Spoke too soon... WOS the late Mr Swayze and "She's Breaking Wind"

But VHM Ms Houston's "So Emotional", baby. "I don't know why I like women -- I just DO!"

And I totally don't remember Heart's "There's the Girl"

BTW this Ontario station I'm listening to, CKRU (aka "Kruz-FM")

http://www.kruzfm.ca/home/default.aspx

is one of the few stations that airs both Casey '70s and Casey '80s.
