Kahuna and Wayback, I need you and Mike and any other 10@10ers who listen to these in joining me in petitioning to Jambi that we get a 1972 set sometime in the next 3 weekends.  I've been longing for 2 years to hear a set on or around my birthdate (12/15/72) to hear what the world sounded like on that day.  No luck so far.  Not optimistic now since there seems to be a black hole in recovering '73 charts of late autumn.  But we'll see.

Well, we've had '70, '71 and '73 recently; the odds may be in your favor.  My fingers (and Jambi's) are crossed!
You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'round

I'm sure these replays are set months ahead, but given the shows we've had past months there's a good chance we'll have a 12/72 show!  Here's the chart from 12/16/72:
“American Top 40” from December 16, 1972
#40 “LOS PARAGUAYOS” – Rod Stewart
Note: #40 was supposed to be “ANGEL” by Rod Stewart. However the AT40 staff
put in the B-side by mistake, even though Casey still announces it as “ANGEL.”
#39 “WHAT AM I CRYING FOR” – Dennis Yost & The Classics IV
#38 “DON’T LET ME BE LONELY TONIGHT” – James Taylor
#37 “YOU’RE SO VAIN” – Carly Simon
#36 “SUNNY DAYS” – Lighthouse
#35 “I DIDN’T KNOW I LOVED YOU (TIL I SAW YOU ROCK & ROLL)” – Gary Glitter
#34 “ALIVE” – The Bee Gees
#33 “IF I COULD REACH YOU” – The Fifth Dimension
#32 “I WANNA BE WITH YOU” – The Raspberries
#31 “BEEN TO CANAAN” – Carole King
#30 “I’LL BE AROUND” – The Spinners
#29 “I’D LOVE YOU TO WANT ME” – Lobo
#28 “PIECES OF APRIL” – Three Dog Night
#27 “SUPERSTITION” – Stevie Wonder
#26 “LONG DARK ROAD” – The Hollies
#25 “DIALOGUE” – Chicago
#24 “YOUR MAMA DON’T DANCE” – Ken Loggins w/Jim Messina
#23 “SITTING” – Cat Stevens
#22 “OPERATOR (THAT’S NOT THE WAY IT FEELS)” – Jim Croce
#21 “WALK ON WATER” – Neil Diamond
#20 “LIVING IN THE PAST” – Jethro Tull
#19 “SUMMER BREEZE” – Seals & Crofts
#18 “CORNER OF THE SKY” – The Jackson 5
#17 “KEEPER OF THE CASTLE” – The Four Tops
#16 “SWEET SURRENDER” – Bread
#15 “SUPERFLY” – Curtis Mayfield
#14 “CRAZY HORSES” – The Osmonds
#13 “SOMETHING’S WRONG WITH ME” – Austin Roberts
#12 “FUNNY FACE” – Donna Fargo
#11 “ROCKIN’ PNEUMONIA-THE BOOGIE WOOGIE FLU” – Johnny Rivers
#10 “I’M STONE IN LOVE WITH YOU” – The Stylistics
#9 “I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW” – Johnny Nash
#8 “VENTURA HIGHWAY” – America
#7 “CLAIR” – Gilbert O’Sullivan
#6 “PAPA WAS A ROLLING STONE” – The Temptations
#5 “IT NEVER RAINS IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA” – Albert Hammond
#4 “YOU OUGHT TO BE WITH ME” – Al Green
#3 “IF YOU DON’T KNOW ME BY NOW” – Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes
#2 “I AM WOMAN” – Helen Reddy
#1 “ME & MRS. JONES” – Billy Paul

Meantime, looking forward to "Just to Be Close to You" (Aw!!) and "Love So Right" (Bee Gees falsetto stratosphere clinic, second only to tender "Fanny").
I will send an email.  They haven't played a '72 since May so they are way overdue.  Love to hear "Me and Mrs. Jones" one of my alltime favs.

A bit of trivia on this particular week in AT40 history:  Instead of playing Rod Stewart's cover of Jimi Hendrix's "Angel" they accidently played the "B" side "What Made Milwaukee Famous (Has Made a Loser Out of Me). So "Angel" was never heard on AT40 since it peaked at #40 and only charted for one week.

Oh, wow.  Let us remedy that here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xngpn52hUbU

Wayback, thanks for posting this.  #39,#34 and #21 will be NTM if I ever hear this.  (Yes, I can YouTube them, but it's more fun to be surprised.)

I don't know if this will be the show the entire weekend but MIX 107.7 at 3 AM Saturday morning played August 17, 1985. An August show??

Hour #1 is something of a cheezefest (or HFH-fest, depending on yer POV): Travolta's awful "Whenever I'm Away From You"; Lord David Dundas' "Jeans On"; the BCRollers' fair-to-middling remake of "I Only Want To Be With You"; and ABBA's "Fernando".

BOSFRA to the Bar Kays' forgotten "Shake Your Rump To The Funk"; VHM Bread's short-lived comeback with "Lost Without Your Love"; and proxy of Leopold "Butters" Stotch to "If You Leave Me Now".

Whose wine? What wine? Whythehell must Frampton whine?

VHM the cheezy goodness of the Sylvers' "Hot Line" -- Baby whoooo! BOS2 LTD, whose "Love Ballad" I didn't come to appreciate until much later. And another VHM to the fab Richard Perry production on "Stand Tall". Ditto the old-school charms of Englebert H's comeback, "After The Lovin'", and Whinyface with her first (pre-Sat Nite Fever) Bee Gees cover, "Love Me".

Alice Cooper sez he never cries -- but he's a big Sarah Palin fan, so I see heartbreak dead ahead. ;)

You are the woman -- because I was the woman last time!

VHM ED&JFC's still-lovely "Nights are Forever"; and Casey breathlessly gives us "the story behind 'Nadia's Theme' " -- yeah, we know it was orig from Bless the Beasts & Children, but aren't you even gonna *mention* that it was also the theme from The Young & the Restless?

Marilyn McCoo! and Uncle Remus too! "You don't have to be a tar baby to be in mah show!"  And the gales of November linger into December for Gordo and the Edmund Fitz.

Casey's '80s = December 15, 1984.  No surprises or NTMs but some decent memories, including Stevie's forgotten "Love Light in Flight."

I guess MIX 107.7 on Saturday morning didn't want to play this show or didn't get the tape in time.

There is a difference between Casey's show and the actual chart.

Casey played the Cars at #23 and Chicago at #22 when the Billboard charts has the reverse.

Bad News Gazoo, according to KKLZ's website this weeks show will be from December 10, 1977 (a rerun from the past 2 years). More "You Light Up My Life" at the top.                                                                                                          http://www.963kklz.com/index.php?page=202
