R.I.P. indeed. And I was thinking about changing my avatar to this anyway!

Awesome, Gaz! He kicked ass as The Riddler. So freakin manic. He gave Cesear Romero a run for his money (I think there's a scene in the 60s Batman movie where Riddler & Joker are laughing their trademark laughs together).
Frank was great in 12 Monkeys, too.

His Star Trek guest spot was one of my fave heavy-handed social commentary eps ever.

Right on, Rod!
Ah, Trek- I'll miss your ham-fisted attempts to teach me stuff.
Gorshin was so good at being malevolent.

and a fine impressionist too. His Kirk Douglas was killer.

Gaz, quick work on the avatar switcheroo. Very nice indeed.
Someplace at home I have a genuine Frank Gorshin autograph that my folks got for me when they went to see him at one of the clubs up in Tahoe during the time that Batman was hot. Signed "To Jim, the Riddler Frank Gorshin"--one of my proudest possessions in those days.
