i was noticing yesterday how not too many people have license plate holders or bumper stickers bearing expletives, and i was thinking about how generally civilised we are as a nation. i didn't think too long about it...

Most DMV's are quite vigilant about license plates -- you're not allowed to be lewd or political.

Morning radio sucks big buckets of ass, especially here in NYC. I'll never be caught listening to that garbage. I just hope Micky Dolenz isn't being pushed into doing "morning zoo" antics on his show.

Ironically, this Friday there'll be a "20th Anniversary" simulcast of "We Are The World" (it's the 20th birthday of the song's recording session). Wonder if KFOG and The Drive will participate.

kim and someone else:
lend a helping hand
Very remarkably done! The only correction is that it's Kim Carnes and Huey Lewis here singing "stand together as one."
At least they're not re-releasing "Voices That Care." Although now that I think about it, it'd make a great Onion piece to claim that *every charity single ever recorded* will be re-released this weekend for the tsunami victims.

Lou Reed: "Look around the world Bay-bay, it cannot be denied..."
speaking of all these artists, have you seen the candy commercial (Starburst Chews?) that's a parody of the Lionel Ritchie "Hello" video? The guy makes a sculpture of the girl with fruit candies, while "Hello" plays in the background. High-larious.

I love how the station management is pretending it had NO IDEA that this was being broadcast and that they would NEVER CONDONE such behavior. Naw, those people who put it on the website, those people who passed it along to message boards -- we had no idea MORNING DJs would ever stoop so low.
*sigh*
