Title: The Peak, 2/21/08: It's 1971
Post by: Gazoo on February 21, 2008, 07:29:29 AM
The bad news (for me) is that I missed Badfinger's "Baby Blue," the TOTHK.

The worse news is that I didn't miss Yes's "Starship Trooper."

McGuinness Flint, "When I'm Dead and Gone" is new to me, sounds like Lindsey Buckingham six years later.

Rob closes with, IIRC, an Mshray fave.  Impressively diverse set!  Barely a hit among 'em, much less a Katrina.

Badfinger    Baby Blue
Joni Mitchell    All I Want
Who    Bargain
Bob Marley & the Wailers    Small Axe
Yes    Starship Trooper
Bob Dylan    Watching The River Flow
Led Zeppelin    Rock And Roll
McGuinness Flint    When I'm Dead and Gone
Creedence Clearwater Revival    Have You Ever Seen The Rain
Rolling Stones    Moonlight Mile

I second your emotions -- fabulous stuff. Joni woulda been my BOS (we all know ah LURVES me some Blue), with the Dylan a close 2nd. Good characterization of the McGuinness Flint, a prog-FM fave back then.

Love this commercial for "Romantic Depot" -- a sex-toy superstore in Westchester/Rockland!!!  ROTFLMAO!
