Hubert Humphrey concedes / Richard Nixon victory speech ---> The Rolling Stones "Sympathy For The Devil"

Humphrey concedes --> "Sympathy for the Devil" which is in current KFOG rotay as one of their handful of '60s oldies. So we're 4-for-4 with overly-familiar tracks.

I was thinking about doing another '68, and if the set continues along this vein, I may well have one prepped by tonight...

"Drinkin' Wine Spo-dee-o-dee" (or an antecedent of same) by... ?? I think she's played this before but I'm blanking on the artist.

Jerry Lee Lewis "Drinkin' Wine, Spo-Dee-O-Dee"
it appears that was the Electric Flag -- it was called simply "Wine" in '68.

wow -- the B-side woulda been a nice salute to the recently departed Don Covay. Missed opportunity there.
"Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-LN".
TANC: heard Marmalade's cover of this on a 2NG retro chart this week (Feb '69, when it had just finished several weeks at #1!)

Okay, I'll do a '68 sometime this evening, and I'll include "Sookie Sookie". Any other requests?

Has the live version from Ya-Ya's ever been played? Would be '69 (date of the MSG concerts) or '70 (album release date). That version would be far less familiar and very welcome.

my guess would be it hasn't; AL (and Dave) have tended to eschew live LPs unless it's something like Frampton Comes While Alive, where the live versions supersede the studio takes in familiarity.

On the basis of recorded hits-tory, this is a bust-out.

wow, that's kind of amazing -- coulda sworn we'd heard it fairly recently, but maybe I'm thinking of that all-Macca day KFOG did.
