Post by: Tinka Cat on December 08, 2008, 10:13:07 AM
Missed the first coupla songs, but heard the last few bars of Golden Earring's "Twilight Zone" (ho hum) before Huey Lewis and his News started "Working For A Living."

eta: turns out Twilight Zone was the first song -- the l-o-o-o-o-ng  version

Burning Down One Side = BOS3 (although it should be one listener, one vote)

"my KNEES are WEAK, my head is REELing... "

I tuned on for 3 great ones...!  (where is everyone?)

This video for this one is soooo eighties, the hair, the clothes, the dude with the mummy head-wrap playing the guitar solo on the table.. Didn't we all do that in the 80s?

the next three:

Donald Fagen  - "I.G.Y. (Beautiful World"

Icehouse  - "Uniform"  -- digging this one...

Josie Cotton- "Johnny, Are You Queer?"  (here's another gimmick band candidate, based on this song alone)

Fleetwood Mac squeaks out "Hold Me"  -- not a huge fan.

But I like CSN's Southern Cross...

sorry I missed this (10am meetibg) -- yeah, a novelty more than a gimmick -- the rest of the LP was servicable Go-Gos-ish pop; indeed the GoGos used to peform "JAYQ?" in concert but chose not to record it.
