Title: No 1978 on 3/3/05
Post by: RGMike on March 03, 2005, 07:31:22 AM
due to the usual Thursday no-streaming issue. So no chance to compare Dave's '78 set with Bob's.  But Tommy Castro will be playing live on KFOG between 8 & 8:30 if yer interested.

I'm on the Drive's 10 @ 10.  I used the link from the club links page, straight to the wm player.  Just played that "Forever Autumn" song.  Now it's the Doobies, "What a Fool Believes."

Some Girls was the Stones' "punk album"?  Who knew?

Right, and Mad Love was Linda Ronstadt's "punk album"...

I knew.  Actually I would say in 20/20 hindsight that it was the Stones CBGB album, but not necessarily punk.

imho, the bold tunes are very much in the CBGB vein (Tom Verlaine more than Richard Hell, though, except the last one)

Miss You
When the Whip Comes Down
Just My Imagination
Some Girls
Lies
Far Away Eyes
Respectable
Before They Make Me Run
Beast of Burden
Shattered
