I was just over at thebrushback.com (sports news parody) and it occurred to me that I've yet to see a site that is focused on fake music news.  Maybe there's not enough material?  If there is, maybe this is our opportunity...

Anyway, here's a link to one of the articles in this week's brushback

beej, should that read "outside of a dog - a book...?"

Well, then it wouldn't be funny. He meant it as a joke. But, in fact, if one were to crawl inside a dog, they'd probably find it too dark inside the dog to read.

No, I think the quote is:

Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend, inside a dog it's...  You switched the first half around...

"Blue Sky", ABB -- really takes me back.  When I was a teenager, a band called Blue Sky used to play at dances I went to.  This, of course, was one of their featured songs.  Not the easiest thing in the world to dance to, but we were enthusiastic.

is it wrong for me as a gay man to like Rush?   8)

No. But it's wrong for an intelligent person to think their willfully obscure ramblings are profound

Willfully Obscure -- another great name for a band!

i think bos might be for this 'no promises' song, which is stirring some strong nostalgia. but i don't know who it is.

Yeah, the no promises song is the Bowie that's not Bowie I was talking about.

Is this that Bowie song that, well, isn't Bowie?

And BTW, love your new avatar, Beej.  And Poc needs to get her CJZ back.

I have been hesitant to stay signed in as I don't know if the system admin can tell or not. I don't want to raise questions. Rod? Can they tell?

I don't think it matters whether you are signed in or not.  If the web page is open, they can figure that out.  If they see that, then decide to find out what goes on over here, they can just access the site.  If they see you've made 48 posts from 10 to 10:15, you might be in trouble.

As Geoff points out, they can track what you are doing, if they have the time and inclination.  Some do, some don't.

What I do here is have the club log me in automatically.  I close my browser and come back, so I'm not usually online for long periods.  Not that I think that would fool anyone, but I know for a fact that we don't have the resources to track me.  After all, I'd probably be given that job if anyone was.

All of which reminds me of 1984 --

Here's one for the Beejster:  "Mr. Blue Sky"

For some reason I don't hate ELO songs with the word Blue in the title.  Just one of those things.

This Moody Blues song is just godawful ("For My Lady").

Just curious--anyone got an idea how many posts we've been averaging per day or per week on the old board? I couldn't venture an accurate guess but I'd have to think it's in the range of several hundred per day, and 4 figures weekly.

Cut and pasted from the statistics page in admin for the other board.  Not sure what this tells us:
