19 September 2011: Ten Songs From One Year (1997)
« on: September 19, 2011, 09:54:49 AM »
I'll forecast one bustout and six Katrinas. Three people on FB will claim Annalisa is on fire. There will be two clever segues and an underlying theme that nobody will get.

You made my day with this, Tim.

Unless this is a pre-1990 set I may stick with 1340 the Boardwalk.

an FB post indicates song #1 is by Sugar Ray (lord help us!) so I think I'll stay where I am (Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" segged into Shelby Lynne's fab cover of "I Only Wanna be With You" really hit the spot just now)

eeek: Smashmouth too.  Glad I'm not listening. 1340's playing Raphael Saddiq -- no contest!

Not a fan of the Foo, but man, this sounds like Beethoven's 5th after hearing that Paula Cole.

Boy I just don't get this set.  I remember thinking that 1997 had lots of great music at the time.

most of which was on Live 105 or Z-95.7 (gimme some "M-M-M-Bop")

'97 is maybe my fave year of that decade --the resurgence of pop, as I recall. But AL (surprise surprise) is not being terribly adventurous today.
