the 'oo start off with a guilty displeasure, but at least Bob acknowledges New Wave with Modern English, overplayed tho' it may be. (and he used Haircut 100's "Love +1" as a musical bed, tho' I'm sure he's never played the actual song)
VHM JCM "Hand to Hold Onto"

I'd hate to think the title is a reference to Pete's physiological response to that kid playing the video game.

wow -- BOSFRA for America's '82 "comeback", "You Can Do Magic" -- sounding more like a Firefall reject than one of their own.
-
BOS America and the overproduced "You Can Do Magic."

I note the candidate is GOP, but in Henley's case I'd say that doesn't guarantee that Henley himself is Dem...

Henley's a long-standing "Hollywood liberal" (as they say on Faux News), his Wal-Mart deals notwithstanding. It's an interesting case; we've seen this repeatedly with candidates using songs without permission (see: Heart, Jackson Browne, etc) and most will cease and desist when asked. But this GOP guy not only took Henley's songs but wrote new lyrics, so naturally he's using the First Amendment "parody" defense. Not sure if Henley has an argument here, esp if the guy's paying royalties for the use of the melody.

The Senator would win such a case, if it goes that far. Weird Al asks for permission for all his parodies, but only as a courtesy; he is not obligated by law to do so. What's good for the goose is also good for the gooser.
