here's a new game:
Identify the songs that contain references to the following professions. The first batch are all academic.
1) oceanographer
2) historians
3) mathematicians
4) sociologists
5) philosophers

Zimmy, "Tangled Up in Blue"
I'm sure I know at least 3 of the others, but I'm blanking.
-
So, I guess some hints are in order.
1) oceanographer
(think big movie by big director, then think parody)
2) historians
(multiple correct answers, the highest charting one is by someone who shares my given name. twice.)
4) sociologists
(band led by another guy who shares my given name, this song charted at #75)
5) philosophers
(Beej & poc & I like this band more than the rest of you guys, this song charted at #76)

Rush, "Closer To The Heart"
(and I still say Heart should record a song titled "Closer To The Rush". In the spirit of Nick Lowe's Bowi album.)
