That lengthy discussion of the Howard Tate master tapes proves this to be a Classic, in case there was any doubt.

Damn, sorry I didn't try to tune in this morning--I figured it'd be a day of "KFOG Variety" and there wouldn't be a set. And I won't be home tonight as we're off to Salem to see the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (Giants' single-A club) take on the Tri City Dust Devils--with fireworks after! Anyway, happy 4th, y'all--it rained (a little bit) here today!

Mark, was this set in the DB at all, or is it one from the deep, dark recesses of the KFOG archives?
Let's get right to it.

It strikes me as having first aired quite some time ago -- on a Friday when the "suits" were out of town, thus inspiring Dave to do an SP that wasn't "all hits".

07/04/2008 - FRIDAY!! Today's 10@10 "Classic" is a 60's Soul Patrol!!

1.  Soul Brothers Six - Some Kind of Wonderful
2.  Howard Tate - Stop
3.  Fontella Bass - Rescue Me
4.  Edwin Starr - SOS (Stop Her On Sight)
5.  Otis & Karla * - Tramp (BEST OF SET!!)
6.  James Brown - Ain't it Funky (BEST OF SET!!)
7.  Joe Tex - Show Me
8.  The Parliaments - Testify
9.  Sam & Dave - Hold On, I'm Comin'
10.  Fantastic Johnny C - Boogaloo Down Broadway

* - Memo to Dave's intern: it's "Carla", not "Karla"

I call shenanigans.  My experience is that the moment they're coming is the moment they want you to let go.
