25 January 2008--it's 1972
« on: January 25, 2008, 09:20:36 AM »
Heard the promo last night.

We don't need to hear "Metal Guru" or "All The Young Dudes" any time soon, but not too many other Katrinas in '72.

ETA:  I do hope it's a soul-ful set - Al Green can be counted on (Dave has played 5 diff. tracks by him in my Db for '72), and I wouldn't mind hearing Cornelius Bros. and Sister Rose, Bill Withers, Donnie Elbert, O'Jays, Stylistics, Spinners, etc.

Oh, we could do without "Brandy" or either of Badfinger's hits.

We just did '72 three weeks ago; this must be some sort of special B-day request.

In the sense that they get plentiful classic rock airplay, sure, but none of them is even close to a 10@10 Katrina (and Day After Day has only shown up in '71 sets).

And we also visited on December 21, so that means we've been to '72 three times in just over a month. Amazing. (I think the last one was a b-day request, so maybe this is just getting back on schedule.)
Let's get right to it.

A fine year. I'm celebrating a bday. One of my little cats is a year older today.

Dave's def. getting his glam on early--wonder if we'll have any other contributions from any of Bowie's compatriots?

And no sooner said than done--it's the Dooods!

I need TV, but I got T Rex!
