Mike Damone tells our hero to play it when he wants to get her in the mood.
Scene cuts to them in the  car on the way to dinner, but I think the song he's playing on the tape deck is actually When The Levee Breaks.

Actually, Damone suggests Led Zep IV, and he plays Kashmir instead (from Phyical Graffiti).

Oooooh, SO close.  I'll give you 5 frink pts.

Damone tells Rat to play Side 1 of Led Zeppelin IV ("Black Dog", "Rock 'N' Roll", "Battle Of Evermore" & "Stairway To Heaven") to get Stacy in the mood, and the scene cuts to them in the car with "Kashmir" blaring (and both kids looking more than a little uneasy).

courtesy of IMDb:

First of all Rat, you never let on how much you like a girl. "Oh, Debbie. Hi." Two, you always call the shots. "Kiss me. You won't regret it." Now three, act like wherever you are, that's the place to be. "Isn't this great?" Four, when ordering food, you find out what she wants, then order for the both of you. It's a classy move. "Now, the lady will have the linguini and white clam sauce, and a Coke with no ice." And five, now this is the most important, Rat. When it comes down to making out, whenever possible, put on side one of Led Zeppelin IV.

One of the great inside jokes in the history of cinema, imho.  Either it cracks you up, or you don't even know a joke has been made.

ETA: I missed Rod's correction, good memory! Frink points for everybody!

Ah, I forgot the side 1 part.  But yeah, it was one of the laugh out loud moments for me when I first saw the movie.

Pheobe Cates makes another (disparaging) LZ reference later when discussing the difference between high school boys and older guys.

Still holding onto my BOS vote, though this Gloria Gaynor record is a nice surprise.

I'd completely forgotten this song, but I know it's not a bustout.  Reminiscent of "Angie Baby" a bit.

And Urth, I think the fahr'n/fun thing was intentional sly humor on Kraftwerk's part.

Ooh!  VHM to Gwen McCrae's "Rockin' Chair," a response record of sorts to hubby George's "Rock Your Baby."

actually that's a Johnny Carson line, and I believe it was Dana Carvey who did a great Carson imitation on SNL.
