Hey Saint Peter! I feel like we just heard this song on Monday. But maybe it was Annalisa's bonus track for the 79 set.

Shucks, I missed the boogie.  Tuned in just in time for the Cars.  This is one of their three #41s, right?

I'm very much in the mood to hear Spanky & Our Gang's "Lazy Day" this afternoon.  Or really, anything by them.  Might have to go buy a greatest-hits comp this afternoon, except that I'm trying to not spend anything on music until one of my freelance checks comes in (trying to psych myself into productivity through delayed gratification).

A fresh Moscone clip. That was an event where I'll remember where I was, what I was doing when I heard.

What are we blaming on the boogie in his case?  That hairstyle?

Where were you / what were you doing?

(I didn't know this had even happened until the '90s when I was in college.)

Mick's wisest move on "Don't Look Back": not trying to affect a Jamaican patois.  No one can inauthentically mimic one convincingly that I've ever heard.

oh, that Dave would play the whole damn Manilow song.

"really honey you gotta drag yourself into the '70s!"

geez, Dave actually censored the word "nuts".

At the movies: as "Ready to Take a Chance Again" plays, Goldie Hawn is driving down a winding hillside outside San Francisco.  Oh, how I loved this movie.  Dave should've played the song in full, it would've gotten my BOS.

In fact ...

I loves me some Patti S, but honestly this is the ONLY song that ever gets played. Where's "Gloria", "Redondo Beach", "Frederick"...

Jesus died for somebody's sins, but not Dave's.

The day Dave plays "Piss Factory," I eat my mousepad.

But he's played "Dancing Barefoot" before, at least, I think ...

I'm inclined to give Dave some props. Seems like the last couple of weeks or so, we've been hearing a few more deep tracks per set, or at least stuff we haven't heard a dozen or more times.  Today there were several--the Quincy Jones, the Moodies, the ARS tune. Yesterday's set was nearly as good, particularly considering 85 is usually has more than its share of katrinas.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that Narada Michael Walden was interning in the studio during this recording.

Didn't know Dave was such a fan of the Q, but that would explain his keeping the Brothers Johnson in moderately heavy rotation.  Wonder why he avoids "The Secret Garden (Seduction Suite)," though.

Me'sa thinks Jar-Jar sucks.

OK, so Gabe Kaplan's Is-ro (Israel + Afro = Is-ro) isn't as majestic as Spector's or that bear from the Hair Bear Bunch...

(I remember that cartoon- but had to look up the proper title. All I really remember is part of the theme song and the fact that the bears had a high-tech cave at the zoo. But, when the zoo keeper came by- they would push buttons that looked like rocks to hide everything. I guess the zoo had a strict policy about appliances or something)

but I wanna play, too!

Me too--I've been looking for a shot of that kid with the HUGE red isro that used to be on Room 222, to know avail. His real name was David Jollife, but that hasn't gotten me anywhere. (But I did find out that he now plays in a band with Bill Mumy and Miguel Ferrer!)
